UTC New England Regional Video

Does Anybody have a copy of the awesome video that was edited on site? I know alot of people must want a copy of it. I think they did a really good job, shooting all the tape in the first two days, and putting it all together. Well, and help in obtaining a copy would be great, im doing a project on FIRST robotics for my english class, and it would be great if I could show the tape to them, or play it on the computer.

I'm so glad they didn't put the clip with my team talking in that video. This girl was talking to us, and I totally spaced out (it was right before a match). She put the mic in my face, and all I could say was, "What was the question?" The other members of my drive team made fun of me for that. But back to the topic, I'd also love a copy of that video. I'm thinking that maybe I could also show it in one of my classes. It would be great to get more kids interested in FIRST.

what are you talking about boy. Didnt i teach you anything?!!? Mac based editing is no more efficient than Pc editing, its just the software available on the mac platform is superior. Also, video editing is far from simple. A few simple cuts and fades may seem easy, but once you get into more advanced things like layering and keys, it gets a tad more complicated.

I only got a look at the computer a few times and I believe it was a PC. I am not sure though so don't quote me on that, they had taken over the student host room to do the video editing but I never got a good look.

I have the footage on VHS.
Now I might be wrong but I believe that was made on Final Cut Pro. I say this becuase the animation looked like livetype, which is part of the final cut pro package.

It would be cool if they uploaded the video so we can just download it. about the PC vs Mac think, I'm a PC user, who is also running a linux server in my bedroom, but my friend is a Mac nut, I mean he lives by them. Everything he has is Mac, and is of the very best quality. I know both platforms can handle the editing, but Macs are better adapted I think, designed primarily for that industry.

Here are the facts:

The video was shot over two days (Thursday and Friday). The video production team consisted of three people: one camera operator, one interviewer, and one editor.

The editing was done on a Mac G4 PowerBook Titanium (1GB RAM) using Avid Xpress Pro (with Mojo) with 1/2 Terabyte of available hard drive space. Graphics were created with Apple LiveType and Adobe After Effects.

Over four hours of raw footage was shot, and edited down into roughly six minutes of production footage. An attempt was made to capture every team attending the regional, and include them in the video.

The video was completed about 15 minutes before it was shown.

Hope this helps!

I'll reply also since I'd like to get a copy of that video too. Hopefully they'll take notice and realize a lot of people are interested in it.
