Re: Has any of the other regional events have a sickness like at the VCU??
I woke up with a cold the Sunday after UTC, although that may have more to do with walking around the field in a t-shirt 7:30 in the morning before the stage lights warmed up the 45 degree temperature. I felt fine for all three days, but am now noticing a stuffy nose and somewhat sore throat. Anyone else have this?

yepp,
after being completely fine the whole winter, i started not feeling too good sunday after utc (the whole stuffy nose, sore throat thing). maybe it was from standing outside in the cold in a tshirt saturday morning before pits opened . :ahh: oh well, it was all worth a little cold. |

yeah, i have not only the stuffy throat, sore nose thing, but a fever too. My doctor says that it is viral pneumonia. sounds like fun.

As far as I know nobody is sick from my team, 521, or at least nobody has tolf me of anything. However, though I have had no symptom or anything of a cold/virus I have since developed a discoloration on my palm which a doctor friend of mine said is similar to that of a symptom AFTER a certain virus straind (can't remeber which). Or in could just be an irratant so I dunno. But my best fo wishes to those that have become sick that they might fell better
P.S. What do you think the Championships are going to be like?!!? :yikes: |

Went to the doctor today.. he said it could be either a bacterial or viral thing in the lung area... just to let you know if you have the same thing as i do |

I think I'm probably sick because we had to wait outside for about thirty minutes on Thursday and then another fifteen on Saturday. It's my first time being sick during the winter, but after the fun I had this weekend, its worth it.

C'mon, that's FIRST-itis. I get it after almost every single event.
I remember in 2002, when Ken L. was a mentor on our team (Ken always got sick after FIRST events :P) I got sick at the end of build, after SVR, and after Nats. Thanks a lot Ken ;) Cory |
Re: Has any of the other regional events have a sickness like at the VCU??
Several of RAGE's team (including myself) are now sick with cold-like symptoms. Despite frequent hand-washing. I guess that's what happens when you put a bunch of people in small spaces for a long period of time.
But to feel better, all I have to do is remember the Team Social and the enorphins start flowing all over again! |

Wondering if anyone else got mono (infectious mononucleosis) at the UTC event in Hartford? 2 of our teammates are sick now and wiht an incubation time or 4-6 weeks - would mean they picked it up in Hartford in March?

This thread is from 2004. I should hope the girls from 236 are not still ill.

i think it mightbe where the teams got their food . but big events are always a germ fest.. as long as ou wash your hands.. its all good.. .. .i think one person got sick at Great lakes. (on our team). .but i dont think it was related to the event.
