Er, the link I posted in this thread (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...threadid=27158) to The Onion headline this month IS on the front page (www.theonion.com), but the picture of Dave is within the article. Actually, it's just a picture of a LOT of JPL people with Dave in it in the back right.

I wish I had one of Dave running around the field trying to light his microphone on fire with a lighter (no, I'm not kidding). If anyone took a picture of this at the LA regional, please post it here. The first to post will get an official MER trinket (how ironic is that :D).

Yeah! that's pretty close. Although it looks like he's doing his imitation of G. Gordon Liddy (search for "pain"). If one from LA doesn't show up, the trinket is yours.

You know, I would, but I didn't have my camera out at the time because I really wasn't expecting something like that (silly, I know) to occur. So by the time I got my camera out he was getting out of the car and so all I got was this which is cropped from a larger picture, and very poor quality.

At the LA Regional on Friday afternoon after the awards ceremony, I saw Dave walked up and handed him a Dasani bottle, empty of course, and said something like "this is for you". He got the joke, but the other people around looked rather confused. ;)
