This thread is incredible - it's so great to see all of you with dedication to FIRST! By all means, give yourselves a pat on the back... I don't know how some of you go without sleep that many nights a year ;)

I volunteered in St. Louis this year, and it was absolutely crazy. I can only imagine how that would be year round and for several years (for people like Rich, Ken, and Nate). You guys don't get enough thanks.

I'm a FIRST year FIRST volunteer :D

I didn't do much for the Sac regional. I managed to make it to Saturday's competition, talked to some of the other volunteers, and was asked if I wanted anything to do. Being as FIRST deprived as I was, I accepted. Much to my chargin, I was thrown into a corner and told to tell people not to go up the stairs cause it was where all the special VIP were staying to watch the day's events. Eh... I got to sit down for most of that day, so it worked for me... hahaha...

As for volunteering for an event. There is the VITS system that they used the last few years. It has not gone without problems though, so be sure to speak with the event director long prior to the event and at least let them know that you have an interest in volunteering. You will eventually need to register with the VITS system anyways but at least there will be less confusion when it asks for to much information.

A Thread that's mainly been inactive for a year so lets liven it up a bit =)

Most people have already posted Where and What they did as volunteers. So what are you volunteering expectations for 2007:

NYC Remote Kickoff - If it's around for 2007
NYC FLL State Competition
NYC FRC Regional
NJ FRC Regional
SBPLI Regional
Championship Event

Positions I'd Like to Fill at the Events: Team Queueing, Refereeing, Field Reset / Repair, Field Setup and Brakedown and Scorekeeper

And to add to the list of years I've volunteered at the FRC events as of the end of the 2006 season:

NJ FRC: Field Repair / Reset - I believe for all 3 Days
NYC FRC: Lead Team Queuer for Thur & Friday, Alt. Lead Team Queuer Saturday
