Re: "I am John V-Neun"
I remember when everyone had those 'I was in a stall next to Andy Baker' and 'I played hacky sack with Andy Baker' sigs. That was fun.
|

Picking on Baker is totally more fun. He's funny when he's angry... funny in that... kinda scary way. "I beat Andy Baker and his Dad at Pool" ;) (better you than me, buddy) |

Re: pic: "I am John V-Neun"
Now who would do such a thing? I think it was that Tiny Michael guy... :p
Edit: If you want to know what brought this on...think Visa. |
Re: "I am John V-Neun"
John,
It goes more like this .... http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/pi...&quiet=Verbose ;) Besides, something like "I am Andy Baker" just doesn't have the same ring to it (no offense, Andy!) :p |
Re: pic: "I am John V-Neun"
John, you brought it upon yourself. Now you've assended with Andy Baker and Dave Lavery to the all important 'demi-god'* position.
*demi-god position includes Krispy Kream donuts, cooking lessions, and being made fun of on the CD boards through signatures, custom titles, and buttons. |

I colored JVN. Does that count?
|
Re: pic: "I am John V-Neun"
There already are JVN buttons :)
One of our highschoolers should post the picture of it.... mwhuahahaha |
Re: pic: "I am John V-Neun"
Buttons! Sweet! I gotta get me one of those!
-Aaron |
Re: "I am John V-Neun"
Can anyone explain what exactly brought this one on?
If the reason is a good one, I'll probably change my title too - being John seems like it'd be a lot of fun. :) |
Re: "I am John V-Neun"
You all should be ashamed, picking on John like that. Just because he's well known, and beloved by all (well, I'm sure not "all", but close enough) it doesn't give you the right to harrass him like that... especially not after all he does for FIRST and... and... ah, forget it, I need to get back to photoshopping that picture of Dave...
Sorry, John, that's just the price of fame (and infamy too). Heidi <==========> not really a trouble maker |

You remember the Visa commercial where they showed all these people going "I'm Emmitt Smith" and the real Emmitt Smith cut in and is like "You've got to be kidding!" Anyway the commercial was over protecting yourself from identity theft... But yeah, only Big Mike would come up with something like that... |
Re: "I am John V-Neun"
Ah...in that case, I don't see anything wrong with changing my title for a bit. :D
|
Re: "I am John V-Neun"
Would it make you feel better if I said I wasn't JVN?
On that thought... |

Re: pic: "I am John V-Neun"
Pardon my stupidity, but how do you search custom titles?
I'd love to see the current list, but I'm not intelligent enough to know how... :( |
Re: pic: "I am John V-Neun"
yeah that would be nice to know
|
Re: pic: "I am John V-Neun"
Sounds like its high Neun in FIRST land....

Re: pic: "I am John V-Neun"
I don't think there is a way... unless I am just missing something.
Was the screenshot a photoshopped image from the member list, Katie? |
Re: pic: "I am John V-Neun"
someone mind explaining this?

Remember a couple of years ago, there were ads for a credit card in which a bunch of people would come on camera and say "I am Emmitt Smith". One of my suitemates, mocking my... popularity?..... has taken to saying things like "I AM JVN". "I ate lunch, with JVN". "I know the REAL JVN". I made the mistake of mentioning this joke to a few "friends" who then decided to expand upon it. I'm JVN, yes I'm the real V-Neun, all the rest of you V-Neun's are just imitating. (except my bro James... he's a real V-Neun too... we're the only two.) |
Re: pic: "I am John V-Neun"
Will the REAL JVN, PLEASE stand up?
Oh wait - he just did ;). |

Re: pic: "I am John V-Neun"
<-- has a erie feeling that V-Neun will stand for a large amount of pain brought upon Big Mike
|
Re: pic: "I am John V-Neun"
It could mean "major pain" or "bringing about major pain"....as in...
"Amanda Morrison V-Neuned David Kelly at Nationals" "Wow, fixing that gearbox was a V-Neun!" or... "Man, that JVN...he's such a V-Neun" ;) |

In the name of FIRST and gracious professionalism, I choose not to have a false identity or pick on John V. Neun.

JVN's a good guy, but I too may become the next JVN..still thinking if I should "give in".

Re: pic: "I am John V-Neun"
You know, it is pretty cool to see people looking up to a mentor like John. This is what FIRST is all about. Dean and Woodie's premise behind FIRST was to bring attention to people who are "heros" in the world of science. Well, it appears that John is a hero to many... even Mr. Lavery!
FIRST is succeeding, and here is concrete evidence. Do you think I am joking? Andy B. |

Oh i contacted FIRST and got the ball Rolling, to make it easier on Dave Lavery, Andy Baker and JVN, There will be a "HERO'S OF FIRST" Booth at nats, baker lavery and jvn are all gonna sit there and sign autographs for you guys oh btw april fools |

Re: pic: "I am John V-Neun"
V-Neun: a verb meaning to make a straightforward entity seem mysterious.
Used in a sentence: I think instead of showing my hyphenated name, I'll just V-Neun it to use the initial of one last name and the entire other last name, that way people will always ask me what the "V" stands for. |
Re: pic: "I am John V-Neun"
I hope JVN doesn't get too emotional about all this attention. When we were traveling the jungles of Borneo together and he saved my life, nearly sacrificing his own, he said "Gary, if we get out of this alive, we're going to mentor FIRST teams and just fade into the background - no more excitement for me". <sob> I love you man - you're an inspiration to us all. I'm proud to have a twin half-brother like you. I can't change my profile to add your name, it would just.......be........too.....<sob>......painful for me.
|

Besides Paul, you've gotta admit, JVN has a nice ring to it. ;) |
Re: pic: "I am John V-Neun"
Can the same word have two entirely different meanings?
Here we go: V-Neun: a verb meaning to complicate something simple. Also, a verb meaning to simplify something complicated. or, better yet: V-Neun: a verb meaning to simplfy something complicated Vielkind-N: a verb meaning to complicate something simple. I have decided that I will now call you John Vielkind-N!! |

"What the V-Neun... I'm so sick of all this V-Neunin V-Neun. If only they'd bring back the V-Neun, I'd be totally V-Neun." Now we just need to get "V-Neun" onto Dan Green's list. "Sweet Sassy Molassy! Those technokittens really V-Neun'd it!" I'm gonna start using Copioli to mean "Totally Sweet!". As in: "WHOA MAN! That gearbox is COPIOLI!!!" It seems somehow appropriate ;) Quote:
I thought we swore we'd never talk about that. It's just... too difficult to think about. :( |

Like, "Man, after all that celebrating for our regional win, we just Leung-ed out" (aka, passed out) ;) |
Re: pic: "I am John V-Neun"
Oh yeah! Leung totally has to be the synonym for sleep, sleepy, sleeping, passed out, etc.
Ken is the most efficient sleeper I know. Standing up, at the scoring table, during the pig roast, whatever. That guy can sleep! |

"Those poor Eddies... they all need help." On second thought, it can also mean either someone who sports way too much lime green, someone who dresses up a a superhero, or somone who flings around fictitious FIRST mascots in a chat room. Using it in a sentence: "Those poor Eddies... they all need help." |

Re: pic: "I am John V-Neun"
Haha, well....I imagined it to be a good gesture kindof thing...that one person would nominate the name of another person, as opposed to us naming ourselves....but I'll let "clocked" slide. ;)

Re: pic: "I am John V-Neun"
Well if you wanna make up words using peoples name, my team takes my last name (Schroeder) and turned it into a unit of speed used in a sentance:
The robot Travels 1.2 KiloSchroedes a minute THere is also another definition for that but i am gonna leave that it instant message or PM |
