Float On by the Talking Heads?

How about this:

"Up all night long
And there's something very wrong
And I know it must be late
Been gone since yesterday
I'm not like you guys
I'm not like you"

Summertime from Porgy and Bess, made popular by Ella Fitzgerald. Listen to it, people. It's amazing.

Aliens Exist by Blink 182

Try this one on for size!

"revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night

Madman drummers bummers, Indians in the summer
with a teenage diplomat
In the dumps with the mumps as the adolescent pumps
his way into his hat
With a boulder on my shoulder, feelin' kinda older, I tripped
the merry-go-round
With the stereo pleasin' and sneezin' and wheezin, the calliope crashed
to the ground"

"Blinded By The Light" by Manfred Mann's Earth Band

How about this (I think it's relatively easy, but it's on the radio right now so it just came to mind).

Circus life under the big top world,
we all need the clowns to make us laugh,
Through space and time
always another shore
Wondering where I am
lost without you

My friends and I were just talking about this song in AP Chem today!!!! :ahh:

Faithfully by Journey!!! (I love their greatest hits CD.. I'm a sucker for journey!)

"Do you remember those days hanging out at the village green?
Engineer boots, leather jackets, and tight blue jeans
Oh, you'd drop a dime in the box play a song
About New Orleans
Cold beer, hot lights
My sweet romantic teenage nights" :p

Scenes From an Italian Resturant by the WONDERFUL Billy Joel!!

How about this one-

I worry
I weigh three times my body
I worry
I throw my fear around
But this morning, there’s a calm I can’t explain
The rock candy's melted, only diamonds now remain

Clarity by John Mayer

howsabout :
"Love sees love's happiness
But happiness can't see that love is sad
That love is sad
Sadness is hanging there
To show love somewhere something needs a change
They need a change"

Re: Name that Tune

They'll Need a Crane by they might be giants

how about this one:
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you got 'til it's gone
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot

Big Yellow Taxi by Joni Mitchell (most popular version, I believe), also done by Bob Dylan, The Neighborhood, Counting Crows, and Paolo Santos, and probably some more.

And since I was just listening to this one:

"Drive boy dog boy
Dirty numb angel boy
In the doorway boy
She was a-lipstick boy
She was a-beautiful boy
And tears boy
And all in your inner space boy"

I haven't figured this one out yet. It also appears no one else has either.

Holy jeez, Heidi, could that be Underworld? I just had junior high brought back to me in a huge flash. I think the song was... uh... 'Born Slippy' or slippery or something to that effect. Wow...

Here's one from around the same time period:

"You're such a charming, handsome man,
Now I think I finally understand,
Is it in your genes?, I don't know,
But I'll soon find out, that's for sure,
Why did you play me this way?
Well I guess what you say is true -
I could never be the right kind of girl for you..."
