Bad day!!!
 

Hey, I'm sorry if you find this annoying but I really have to complain. There's there boyfriend of my friend who is trying to take over both my life and her life. She is so innocent and clueless. I'm getting really annoying. My friend is not spending any time with me now. I feel left out! Hug anyone?!/ :(

Wow C.C., when you have a problem you really go public with it! Don't let it bother you too much, yes it was mean, but he just has NO sense for this kind of situation. I truly don't think Esther really understood how Dan would react, and I doubt Zhang MEANT to hurt your feelings. Things'll work out, they always do....

I see threads like this all the time, and I have to wonder, we can't ALL be bad can we? These posts imply that all men are pigs, immoral, lowly, sex craved, and overall less than human. Wow, I'm hurt :( .

I thought this post was only complaining about one boy, not the entire male population. Oh well...

Thank you Dark Jedi! From what C.C. tells me, she did talk to them, and from what I heard it wasn't pretty. That's her personal space though so I'm not gonna say anything more. I'm trying ta help, but I don't talk very well around the opposite gender *blush*.

Okay everybody, first off, big hugs all around.
This is typical of situations some of the younger students here at the college come to me about. Even at my age I get sucked into a few.

A. This is really hard and I know you are suffering, but the best thing I’ve found is to start to get to know other people around you better so that you have someone to hang out with and a friendship support system while you’re waiting for your friend to realize what’s going on and how much she’s hurt you. Expanding your circle of friends to include others will lead you to opportunities and wonderful experiences that you never imagined. It will also give you more opportunities to do things for, and help others, which is really strong medicine for when you feel like used hay. Believe me it helps. It will give you strength and emotional resources to move on if the situation becomes irreparable.


B. If this guy is really that controlling, then maybe you should keep an eye (albeit a distant one) on your friend so that you will be better able to help her if she later wakes up and needs your help, and understanding. Don’t just look for bruises on the outside. Keep track of unhealthy behavioral changes such as pulling away from ALL friends and family, dropping grades, lack of interest in things that used to mean a great deal to her, and lack of sleep etc. Not all abuse is physical.

C. Yes there are many men who very easily fall into the category of “pig”. When we’re suffering because of one of these, we see them all as such. Just remember that there are many more who don’t meet the criteria of the swill club, such as most of the guys here on CD and the young men I’ve had the opportunity to live and work with here on campus. Heck, just go volunteer at a FIRST event. That will change your mind in a hurry. Those guys were awesome!

I am keeping an eye out on her, as best to my ability. as far as guys goes.... ummmmmmm... HELP! Most guys run away from me. There are alot of immature guys out there, they are fun to hang around with. But not to have a serious conversation with.

Have you told your friend or this guy that you don't like being left out? I almost lost one of my friends when he started going out with some girl, but I just told him what was going on, we hung out, played some Counter-Strike, and everything was cool again.
Granted, your situation isn't exactly the same (I don't know if playing violent video games solves any of your problems) but, the best advice I can give to you is to just go to your friend and tell her how you're feeling left out.

PS--I'd hug you, but my computer screen is sorta in the way :)

Thanks I'll keep that in mind. I don't think I could build a robot to beat him up. I think that my friend is a little annoyed with her boyfriend. Her boyfriend is not too fond of me either. He wants to get back at me now for teasing him about going out with my friends. I don't like video games. I like doing stuff on the computers like making siggys and stuff. I've gotten over it and hey, it's time to move on.
