I cant wait to meet everybody at Nats. I'm going to try to sneak away from my team for thursday lunch...........hopefully none of them are reading this thread :yikes:. If I'm not there its because a mentor or another student has me tied to the cart or to the robot. CD is a great place and without people such as Ken Witleff (sp?) Ken Leung, JVN, etc. it would not be the same without these guys. Some of them helped my team out a lot when we had problems and needed help. Their quick replies helped out and provided much needed insight. Thanks to everyone on these forums for making it such a great place. Drop by Team 900's pits sometime and introduce yourself. If you dont see me just ask one of my team members and they will find me quickly. Atlanta is going to be a blast.......i cant wait

i would like to be able to go to Nationals to meet people, however our team didnt qualify :( but hey, I will be staffing Beantown, and i will be at PARC. So if you would like to approach me, do not fear, im not THAT big :rolleyes:

If I was going to nationals, I would want to meet pretty much everyone who's posted more than twice in the Programming forum. (between the band trips, the 2 robotics competions, and a FIRST kickoff, I think I've used my quota!)

Yeah I am totally in the group of people that wants to meet anybody!

I am in the pits just about all day, so I don't get to wander all that often.

I did meet Dean Kamen, Woody Flowers, and Dave Vebrugge (sp?) in 2002.

Dave Lavery is on the list.
Brandon Martus is on there too. Amanda Morrison told me about the imfamous Lil Jon "WHAT?!", "OKAY!", and "YEAH!". So, naturally, that made me want to meet him. :D
JVN is on the list as well. I want to know why I am compelled to claim I am JVN. lol

Last, but certainly not least, EVERYBODY ELSE!!

I have to track one of you down, if not for anything else but to give you the picture that one of the girls from my team took while playing ring toss at closing ceremonies last year with Sam's hair. The picture who's flash you could see in that ring toss video I have of the game, which I think I got from your team's website after Nats last year.

I have been privileged to meet most of the “biggies” already. There are a few however that I would like to spend more time with. Raul, Dave Flowerday and Al of Wildstang come to mind immediately, though figuring out how the Rumba worked in Houston last year was pretty fun. Paul Copioli is another person I have met briefly but haven’t had a chance to get to know.

Others I’d like to meet are:

But most importantly at least at this Championship

I thought for sure everyone would be afraid to meet me... Sadly, I will not be at Nationals, our team is not going. I did seriously consider going down there to volunteer, but I'm hoarding my vacation hours for a trip to Alaska this summer. I'm sure sooner or later we will cross paths... but a warning... my camera is always with me...

If you mean Mark Summers, CNC President, yes, his nephew is on my team, this is true and he is coming with us. I'm pretty sure he'll be glad to talk with you (he's a REALLY cool guy, he helps us out a lot:D )

A little bit of a revamp to the list. Believe me, the people listed aren't the ONLY people that I want to meet, by any means. They're the people that I haven't met, and have made a difference on these forums - given valuable advice and help that inspires us. They're the UFH's that I haven't been introduced to, the posters who always have good things to say, and the people whose posts always exude professionalism and intelligence. Hey ok so since i have no list of people, i want to meet anyone i have yet to and also meet back up with everyone i may have all ready met. Also i wanted a way to remember my last championship competition as a high school student so i got an idea. I have a 2' x 3' poster with the FIRST logo on it and lots of white space around it, and now i have a challange. This will be similar to my water bottle from IRI 2003, everyone i meet or talk to will now have to sign the poster. After nationals i am going to have this laminated and will hang it in my dorm room next year :). So please find me or let me find you (lol) and chat with me then sign the FIRST autographs poster...

Total sweetheart, I would recommend meeting him, plus he is hilarious.

And there is probably good reasoning behind that...I really don't see why so many people wanna meet DJ, is it because he has yet to put up the wall in his room or because he buys electronics jsut to destroy them?


As for whomever wanting to meet Santos, err, Adrian, yea, Adrian is great. I love him in a simply platonic way! (so does my whole team)

yo ryan i do appreciate you guys coming over and tryng to help me out... now dont miss the keyword... TRYING... lol... i was the one and my crew who actually shaved that 7 pounds off... actually we shaved off 13 pounds... get it right...

edit: i used my own tools to shave of the weights by the way...

I do something similiar to that....starting last year at the championship event I took my alliance captain bib and had people sign it and then framed it.. I'll be carrying it around with me sometimes and the rest of the time ill have it stashed in the pit...so if you haven't signed it, feel free to find me and sign it...I could always go for more signatures... :D

I want to meet everyone on team 364 from Gulfport Ms. I used to live there and would have went to that school if i haven't had moved to Maryland. Besides i most likely went to elementry and middle school with alot of people there.

At VCU last year I heard the name Donald Knuth, and I thought it was the Donald Knuth. I asked someone official looking and they kindly informed me I was mistaken. Would have been cool though...
