It's too bad these divisions aren't the real ones, I'ld love to be competing with/against these guys in division 2.

Thats not necessarily true...

Raul made these predictions using the system they used last year, (which was kind of obvious how they did it :p)...and whats to stop them from using it again? I think he is right as long as no new teams qualify this weekend, and even if they do qualify, FIRST just might tack them on the end and start another 1-4 run...

division two has two of the three FL winners... 61 and 945! Hopefully this is true.. but it probily will change becuase the winners from this weekends events have a chance to enter

D2 also has two of the UTC winners if these are reallythe divisions

id say say that the national winner would deffanitly be out of this division

how nice would it be to see 571,45,33 all on the same alliance :cool: one can only dream

What was the system they used last year anyways? I really didn't pay attention to it.

They more or less tok the master list of teams that would be attending and counted off in fours. 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,etc... That was a simple and random way of deviding way of teams into the devisions, but it looks like this years software will be picking the teams for each devision...

Yes i know, but division 2 sounds very very strong. We are a contender and don't count us out, but there are better teams that have better robots.

Even if they do not add them at the end, if they do use this system and only a few teams are added, your team may still be in the same division as many of the teams shown. It depends on the team number that is added. For example, if team number 700 is added, then all teams before 700 will remain in the division I previously predicted and all teams above 700 will shift together one division up. If another team is added, the shift happens again at that point.

Anyway it is fun to speculate. I will fix the predictions and re-post after they update the team list after this weekend's competitions. I hope FIRST just beats me to it and publishes the divison lists soon.

In past years that may have been the case but this competition is so unpredictable that I truly belive that many robots have a really good shot of rising to the top.
Plus all the divisions contain regional winners and technical award winners so any division you end up in will be a fight to the finish.

But if you get hooked up with an allince partner that can take advnatage of your strong points then you will do quite well.
