Off Season Competitions - a list of what, when and where 2
This is sort of like last year's thread on the top of the forums. I have been trying to find out minicomp information for this year and I started to get some old information, so in order to make it convenient for everyone, I thought this big thread can hold all of this year's F.I.R.S.T. Frenzy's mini comps! :)

California Robot Games 2004
Quote:
WRRF is proud to announce California Robot Games 2004 is being put together as of this moment. After careful consideration of the dates in late September/early October, we've decided October 2nd is the best date for us to have Cal Games 04. We will be capping this event at 28 teams until further notice. Registration to this event will be first come first serve, and I will let everyone know as soon as registration is open. We would love to see the Southern California teams come back again this year (and bring another team or two with you), and hope the Sacramento teams will join us as well. As always, I would love to see as many Bay Area teams participate as possible. Any interest for Cal Games 04 please reply to this thread: http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...d.php?p=249476 The event flyer is in there as well. |

Re: 2004 Off Season Competitions - a list of what, when and where
Hey everyone, just to let you know team 555 outta Northern NJ is thinking of making a competition in september or october, in which we create our own game and teams can use past KOP to build a robot to compete. This is a great way to train freshman and other newbies about the ways of first before the actual compettiton. There is a competition like this run out in Michigan called OCCRA and they said that 469 has competed in it in the past two years and last year they were national champs and this year they were national finalist. IF anyone is interested please check out the "Exciting New Competition" thread in the general forum, and respond ASAP, this wont happen if we dont get enough teams so please consider it.

River Rage - WIP
Hi All,
Not to make a useless post but some people have been asking about River Rage. To my knowledge there will be a River Rage 8, however I have not exactly been in the loop so take it with a grain of salt. There is also a rumor that the venue may change to a bigger better location with more parking, details to come ;-) Hopefully that will wet your whistle I, or someone else from the committee, will post as soon as there is more information. Those were some of my favorite memories of the team: purposely scheduling everyone to be there a half hour before they actually had to leave because I knew everyone would be exhausted and running late, making a "Dew Slurpee run" for everyone in the car, making "travel kits" of directions, schedules, etc. for each car in the caravan (usually of around 6 cars), passing eachother on the highway, giving directions through the 2-way radios ("Okay everyone, turn left...now."), ALWAYS either losing a car in the rotary or having a car break down, Elgin's various speeding tickets, and then finally getting there....the ride there was always just as fun as the competition itself. |

Re: 2004 Off Season Competitions - a list of what, when and where
If its early november or late october watch out-because Duel on the Delaware is the 23rd BE V.3 is the 30th and Ramp Riot is the 13th of nov. So if you could get it on the 6th-it would all be perfect, unless 237 wouldnt come to BE then, then you have to change it completely ;)

Re: 2004 Off Season Competitions - a list of what, when and where
Just want to remind everyone that this thread should be an "announcement" thread, so let's keep the discussions in individual off-seasons' threads. The messages to the community will be much clearer if only official announcements are posted here.
Thanks. |
