Re: Interesting team names

Common guys you are forgeting one of the coolest team names, 624:

CRyptonite

CR is our high school's initials (Cinco Ranch High School)
and yptonite is... well.... it goes with the CR and makes everyone happy.
We even have our own theme song, which you can hear in the background on our famous "OMFG SO CLOSE!!" center ato mode cap.

Re: Interesting team names

If you noticed, the closest time Cryptonite ever got to capping was when Kryptonite was playing. Symbolic? Motivational? Random coincidence?

Team 467- Duct Tape Bandits

For the first few years my team's name was Alpha Colonials, the colonial is our schools mascot. Some of the team members would make duct tape clothes and when they wanted to change the name, duct tape came up. Thus the Duct Tape Bandits were born.

Non taken FizMan and you did get the number right. Congrats! And thank you very much for the compliment! Our SWAT is an acronym as you probably know...how it came to be I don't know although it was probably our vice principle Mrs. Byers or either of the team captains from our rookie year. It stands for...

St. Mildred's
Women
Advancing
Technology

From reading these post I would have to say the most interesting would be...

And we decided we liked the name, so we changed the letters to stand for Epsilon Delta and adopted the greek symbols for them for our logo.

Kudos on the most original and hilarious stories!

I dont really know where our team name came from, but I think its kinda cool.

Team 1027 Mechatronic Maniacs

I really like 007 and the ThunderChickens as a name. thats pretty $@#$@#$@#$@# funny.

we named our robot Max Shinigami, meaning Angel of Death in Japanese. we changed it for publicity purposes to Max, because we were exactly 120.0 at the Chesapeake Regional

My team's name (Grady Gearbox Gangstaz) comes from us being an inner-city school, and we haden't heard of any other gangster-themed teams. Amazingly, I still haven't! Correct me if I'm wrong, however

Hey, if anyone from Team 1123 reads this, you guys should rename yourselves something relating to the Fibonacci Sequence, cuz you guys got the first 4 numbers of it. Same goes with 1235, 112, 123, etc... (no, i didn't tink of this on my own, and yes, I did just read The Da Vinci Code, and yes, I did have to look up the spelling! :D )

Our team name is Paradigm Shift, kinda cool... but our robot's name is ODOR: Over Dosed On Robotics. We were joking at regionals that teams should stop by our pits to check out our ODOR!

(Looking back is seems that it would make more sense if ODOR was our team name, but we already had one.)

Re: Interesting team names

As for 648... QC Elite.

QC= Quad Cities. Composed of Moline, ILL.; Rock Island, ILL.; Davenport, IA; and Bettendorf, IA. It's that simple. We have students from Moline HS and Davenport West HS (Three schools in Davenport... west, central, and north) along with Sherrard HS... just a bit aways from the QC.

Elite= Not an acronym like 48, Delphi E.L.I.T.E.. Possibly because we are the best in the Quad Cities.

Hey! At least it isnt "Fab 5" like we were from '99 to '00 when we were team 309. Name that b/c we had 5 sponsors/schools... Moline HS, Sherrard HS, Davenport West HS, John Deere, and Ken-Tronics.

Personally... I liked the "Indiana Prank Monkeys", 1020, which I dont believe are around any more... correct me if I'm wrong. I like Wildstang, Beach Cities, and Cheesy Poofs! LOL.

Later,
Budda
