Re: Interesting team names

Guess we should explain our team name. i didn't get vote on it, but i hear it went like this:
Our school is South Side, and we are the Sout Side Archers
our main sponcer was GE
sofar we have ArcherGE
that didn't sound cool so me made GE into GEeks
so there we have it, the ArcherGEeks

Re: Interesting team names

I can give you two interesting team names!

First, my high school team, 201, was called the FEDS:

Falcon Engineering and Design Solutions

We were originally given the name by our first sponsor, EDS. They took their name, and added an "F" for our school mascot, the Falcons, and got FEDS. Everyone liked the name so much, that when we changed sponsors, we came up with an acronym to keep using FEDS.

Second, my current college team, 830, is the Rat Pack. Our school is the Huron High School River Rats... so we just made the team name off of that. Nothing too amazing, but kinda interesting.

The Dukes
We're an all boys school in Phoenix, AZ.
The Dukes conveys strength and toughness, masculinity, and royalty. "Dukes" have played some very significant roles in history and in popular culture.
I didn't like the name when the team first chose it, but it has really grown on me.

Re: Interesting team names

We're Team007. Pronounced "Double Oh Seven" =D

Our team number is seriously 7, and back in 2003 we decided to have some fun with our number. =P So we made it into Team007. We name our robots after objects, movies, or people from James Bond.

Hehe we rule man. ;)

Re: Interesting team names

SIE - H20 BOTS

SIE = Siemon Company. Watertown, Connecticut

H20 = Water for Watertown

BOTS = Robots

Its like a really cool math equation.

Team 759 aka Systemetric

Because over here in the UK we use the Metric System. Switch the words round (System Metric) and merge the M's to get our team name.

At least that's what I've been told it means.

You would think there would be a story about the martian but there isn't. That is our school mascot. Our robot's name is cool though. My favorite robot is a play off words with the show My favorite martian.

Re: Interesting team names

I always thought it would be cool to name a team after the police code for their team number. I did some searching and looked up the police codes from some teams I know. Heres some of the funny ones

45 - kidnapping
56 - criminal damage
60 - Aggravated burglary
65 - robbery
66 - Extortion threats
68 - Unauthorized use of movable(goal??)
69 - Possession of stolen goods
71 - Issuing worthless checks
211 Armed Robbery
245 Assault with a Deadly Weapon
311 Loud and Obscene
11-14 Animal bite
11-26 Abandoned bicycle

If this was BAttlebots 245 would have the perfect name.
