Hehe, you said it Joseph! If we can get it reassembled in time, we'll even bring our two-wheeled robot to play with... maybe we can convince 398 to "switch pits" ;-)

Re: GALI-LEO! Official Thread

This Galileo division is "purfect". LOL. It seems to me that the Archimedes division would be the most competitive. I saw 33, 45, 65, 71, 111, 237, 311, 386, 435, 494, 945, 1002, 1241... and thats just to name a few!!! I would be too scared to play on the same field as these guys!!! This is the FIRST Frenzy All-Star Division Man :ahh: I might have to watch a few matches from this division

We had to play in Arch last year and it was like that to with the champs coming out of there and a lot of other really good teams but this year we are in Galileo with 16 regional winners this will be a good division as well.

Re: GALI-LEO! Official Thread

Wow, a lot familiar faces in Galileo... will this be the time 222 finally wins something? I can't believe we're with 365, i saw enough green at Philly.. geez.. and our homies 1218... also, from philly 2 very strong competitiors- the best ball bot there, 177, and the best capper, 358. I swear 358 could cap without even trying, when both of them finally hang they'll be even more scary.

and from galileo last year, we played 68 in the playoffs, as well as 108 and 263 (partners, right)? Plus our 2003 Galileo Champion partners- 236.. I can't wait to see what kind of robot the Ticks have made this year and if they still do that funky dance :P

Hard to believe at this very time next week we'll be in Atlanta. Whoa.

GALILEO! galileo
GALILEO! galileo
Galileo figaro magnifico
I am just a poor boy, nobody loves me
HE IS JUST A POOR BOY, FROM A POOR FAMILY

etc. Yes I'm excited, as is the rest of 852. I'm not familiar with many of the teams on the list, so can someone give me a general idea of the geographic distribution of these teams?

EvanG 07-04-2004 01:00

Re: GALI-LEO! Official Thread

From what I've seen, most of the teams come from 3 specific areas. I should probably classify Michigan as its own area because there are so many teams from there, but i'll broaden it to the Great Lakes region. Then a lot of other teams come from the west coast in the CA and AZ backwards J spot reaching from Wa, to TX. Then a lot of other teams come from the east coast, is specific, New England and Florida.

For exacts, check the team list from FIRST, http://www.usfirst.org/frc/map/FMPro...-max=all&-find

1014 did not win

You are missing team 5 who won twice
492 also a 1st
and 852 and 938 both 3th

I started chanting something myself, when I saw that Miss Daisy was in Galileo once again! I'm loving it- I am sure this will be a great division. All I can say is watch out everyone- Miss Daisy's got a title to defend!

Seriously though, good luck to all- I know of quite a few that I'm rooting for in our own division already. (They make me nervous at the same time!)

Can't wait to see y'all there.

Our pit is next to 365 again! I'm seeing green. They let us use their vise, and I loved their tower. It just kept growing.

Hey Lucas, I just noticed we have the same birthdate (with a "few" years difference)!

Miss Daisy will have a chance to defend their 2003 Galileo title and it's great to see so many familiar teams in the same division. Can't wait for Atlanta, Galileo and Archimedes look pretty stacked.

Re: GALI-LEO! Official Thread

Oh yeah, having 27 and 93 in the same division will definetly make for an interesting combination. One a master of the hang/mobile 2x and the other as one of the best ball coraller's around.

I've been pouring over some data i've got nicely sorted in an excel sheet. Now, i don't have all the regionals so i can't confirm this but it looks like 222 and 1405 went undefeated in their qualifying matches at each of their regionals. Something interesting to watch. Also high in the percentages of wins is 492, 980, 1359, 42, 236, and 5, with each having over 70% wins in their qualifying matches (according to my SOAP stats).

108's definetly excited about being in this division. Looks to me like we'll be seeing a finals match of arc vs. gal, but ya never do know. [EDIT] Ohh! I just noticed that 233 and 179 are in curie. That's a force to be reckoned with also, as anyone at UCF saw. 179's a solid 2xer while 233 is most likely the fastest hanger around. [/EDIT]

We'll see yall there and if ya need anything, dont hesitate to ask the 108 pit. :D

I believe 222 went undefeated at Chesapeake but lost one or two at Philly- still a machine to look out for, came in 2nd at both regionals with narrow losses.

this definatly looks like a great line-up for the galileo division...wow i cant beleive there are 16 teams including us that have won regionals in this division...thats great...GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE NEXT WEEK! yay...atlanta here we come!

222 is a team to look out for definitely. They barely lost at Philly. I am also really looking forward to seeing Team 5 who won 2 regionals. Hopefully, this is the year when a Galileo team brings home the championship.

Have gane against 222 I know 177 was quite impressed by them. We are also pleased to be in the same division as so many teams that we met in Philly. As a matter of fact there are a lot of Philly regional teams in this division so that just might add some additional complexity to the qualifying matches if we all see each other again.

Looking forward to being in this division!! Oh yeah, I know my calculus, it says 93 + capper/hanger = winner (yes I know I semi-quoting a boy band, please don't hang me 'til after all of our matches)! ;)

Good luck to everybody, lets see a winner from here!

There are a whole bunch of pics and scouting info on the teams that went to the Silicon Valley Regional (basically stuff for a whole bunch of teams that aren't listed on the other site). Two teams that I can think of right now that aren't in the other page but are in Galileo are 192 and 971. You can get the info at http://blodgettweb.com/473/scouting.php (thanks to team 473 for making it available)

Hey Lucas, I just noticed we have the same birthdate (with a "few" years difference)!

Glad we could help with the vise. If anyone needs to use a vise or drill press just stop by the MOE Pit. We have many tools (including several Auto dongles) and pit crew members (very experienced) to loan out to any team that needs them.

I don't think we will make the Tower of MOEdor much taller. It started hitting parts of the roof of Drexel. We started small so we would not scare the event organizes. But then one of the Drexel people came over and said they expected MOE to think big and not build such a tiny tower. We took him up on the challenge and added one of our extensions to the tower the next day.

Jan 22 is a good birthday. My hairdresser, who is responsible for the green hair dye job, also has the same birthday. Mine was extra special, because I was born on a true American Holiday, Super Bowl Sunday. It was Super Bowl XVIII when the LA Raiders defeated the Redskins 38-9.

I see we are also next to Sparky for the second Nationals in a row. See ya there Joe.

Thanks for all the comments FIRSTERS!
That is correct our qualification win loss tie record is 14-2-0.
At Chesapeake and Philadelphia we lost the finals 20 points both times.
We also took the finals to the 3rd round at both comps.
Undefeated at Chesapeake and #1 seed.

We will be looking out for your robots when we make it to the top 8!!!! ;)
