All right - it's that time of the year for...

DON'T JUST HOVER!! READ! :p

[Well - as we all know - it's that time. HOCKEY PLAYOFF TIME!! Woo-hoo! I have been on a hiatus thans to some personal problems - but that is now all gone and passed.

Now - I am going to dedicate this thread to hockey chat and predictions for the NHL Playoffs.

And the following are my predictions. I must remind you all that I went perfect (:D) until the stanley cup finals last year...

Western Confrence:

Detroit vs Nashville - Don't underestimate Nashville. They have fought hard for thier spot - and all but 10 people have never been to the playoffs off the Nashville team. They will provide some trouble - but not too much. I don't see anyone putting up a leadership roll off that team.
***Detroit in 5***

Vancouver vs Calgary - Calgary?! How in the world they did get up to the 7th seed?! Vancouver shouldn't have too much problems.
***Vancouver in 4***

San Jose vs St. Louis - These two teams can duke it out when the time comes for it. I say they are pretty evenly matched here. I say that St. Louis has the edge thanks to them having something to prove to them selves and their fans.
***St. Louis in 6***

Dallas vs Colorado - Haha. This is just a joke. Dallas has been a huge let down this seasion and since Roy left Colorado they haven't really been a huge threat. What ever happened to Karya and the other transactions they got? The big deal they made about the pay cuts for a chance to win the Cup when they are not even producing?
***UPSET SPECIAL - Dallas in 6***

Eastern Confrence:

Toronto vs Ottawa - Toronto has had a pretty good year. Since Belfour left Dallas he has been pretty decent and steady. Ottawa has the offence to overcome belfour IF they can get it settled down.
***Ottawa in 6***

Tampa Bay vs New York Islanders - The Islanders are in the playoffs? That is just a shock in it's self. They still have a lot more rebuilding to do.
***Tampa Bay in 5***

Montreal vs. Boston - Montreal has been rebuilding pretty steadly. They are decent in all aspects of their game - but not sharp enough to over come Boston. Boston shouldn't have too much trouble with this round.
***Boston in 5***

New Jersey vs Philly - Well, the 2002-2003 stanley cup champs (New Jersey) shouldn't even break a sweat this round. Philly has nothing to contend with NJ.
***New Jersey in 4***

Well - thoes are my predictions. I know there are spelling errors and the such - but I don't really care :p. Some of you may agree while others are going to be shocked at what I have had to say. Post what you think and lets have our selves a good time!

Happy Predicting! :D]

Detroit vs Nashville - Nashville is a really good team, but Detroit's really been better IMO in the 2nd half of the season. Leagace is really good for having a lot of pressure on him. But I'm going w/ Nashville on this bill, mainly because Detroit's playing is still kinda weak compared to what they've showed before. [P.S.: I got a feeling this might end up like the Detroit/S. Carolina matches for the cup]
***Nashville in 6***

Vancouver vs Calgary - Both teams = *splat*. Calgary is pretty weak, Vancouver is kinda weak. But, I'm following Matt on this one. Sweep for the V.
***Vancouver in 4***

San Jose vs St. Louis - I saw S.J.'s last match before the seeding took place, and they really impressed me. S.L. does have some decent players, and a good goalie. I'm goin w/ S.J. on this.
***San Jose in 7***

Dallas vs Colorado - Colorado w/o Roy = crappy. Matt's also correct on this one to, where is Karyia, Selenne, and all those Aneheim players they got. As for Dallas, I'm putting my 1 cent on them, mainly because I got family from there, and I, for some reason, also think they can win (maybe from pulling off a few cheats, but all well).
***Dallas in 5***

Toronto vs Ottawa - Toronto is one of my favorite teams. Pretty good/solid play style this year. But I think the Senators will over-rule the Leafs.
***Ottawa in 4***

Tampa Bay vs New York Islanders - Tampa all the way. NYI are down in a hole IMO. But, I gotta hand it to them. They made it this far, but I think it'll be an easy one for Tampa.
***Tampa Bay in 4***

Montreal vs. Boston - Boston is more offensive and a lil' more defensive now. They are proving themselves, and that's always excellent. But, the big M will probably take it to the top.
***Montreal in 6***

New Jersey vs Philly - Philly....good city, bad team. I think the Flyers won't be flying away with the win this time. I think when we faced them for the cup 6 years ago, and lost, that that's when they really didn't try much.
***New Jersey in 5***

Toronto will win ... in 7 though ..

and after the way the Habs played today, I dont think theyre going to win in 6 ... im not sure they will win at all as much as i would like to see them do so ...

What is this "hockey" you speak of??

Oh, now I remember. We used to have a "hockey team" in CT a while back.. Yeah, well, they sucked so we kicked their a$$es to North Carolina where they continue to suck!

The only real sport we have in CT that gets any recognition is College B-Ball..
Connecticut = Home of UCONN!!!
