i like i tunes... but i just got 2 shirts & a sweatshirt from www.jinxhackwear.com and one is the infamous "I steal Music off the Internet" shirt and the other "F the RIAA"... so... no more i-tunes for me =P

Ok, Joe got me thinking about this iTunes thing. I don't know if he gave this away because he doesn't have iTunes or doesn't use iTunes.

I actually use iTunes, but I don't use the music store at all. I know this game code is from specially marked Pepsi products that have codes under the cap for 1 free song. A little background - iTunes uses locked ACC (.mp4) files (FairPlay) for the songs that you download to your PC. What if you like Winamp though? You too can listen to your free iTunes songs. I was surfing my favorite iPod website today and noticed there was a program for Mac/Linux that could convert these .mp4 files to something that would play in any other player. I also found a plugin on the Winamp website that lets you play these .mp4 files in Winamp 2 or 5. The only catch is that you must have iTunes installed.

Well, I don't listen to music on my computer, iTunes or not, so having a free song doesn't do me any good, nor does being able to convert it to a different format :)

The reverse of that may be true, but iTunes is far from useless without an iPod. I got iTunes before I got my iPod just to play songs. It is a solid player that looks good and is functional. The fact that it duplicates itself onto my iPod at lightning speed is just an added bonus. iPods only enhance the iTunes experience (especially if the iPod has laser engraving).

By the way, mp4 is just the newest MPEG encoding format by the International Organization for Standardization. Read about it

i personally really like iTunes interface, much prettier than windows media player's. But i still use windows media player because most of my songs are in wma format, and iTunes don't play .wma files. I have to convert them all to mp3s before iTune playes them.

Love it. So much.

My favorite part about is being able to access other people's music lists (on my college network)...so I don't have to go download the song myself. I can just listen to theirs all day :)

Shouldn't that be rephrased as "I don't listen to music"? Or did your CD collection go up since I was last at RIT?

I love my Powerbook. :D The iTunes vis. is great. IMO, better than Winamp's default.

I loooove iTunes. I didn't like it as much as WinAmp at first, but then I became an organizing freak. I could spend an entire day organizing my music and rating all of my songs. Is that weird?
