I saw their robot at nats and at the PNW Regional, and both times I saw it with no arm. I also heard it took 12 people to lift it to the bar.

Well, to be fair to the person responsible for the design of the rotating, 12' long telescoping arm, it worked reliably at its functions -- rotating and telescoping. ;)
I did not travel with the team and so I can't speak about what problems they were having with implementing the rest of the robot functions while at competition, however. I have my guesses -- but they're not much more than guesses. I think it'd be a disservice to them if I were to write about them here. PM me if you'd like to know more about what happened and why you didn't see this behemoth reaching across the skies in Atlanta. I learned valuable lessons about team organization this season and it's not what many people might expect or agree with. |
