I hear us rednecks in Indiana don't care for too much Technomusic and they are tempted to bring their trusty shootin' rifles if we do hear the Techno :p

Seriously guys, lets try to balance the music...nobody wants an all Techno weekend.

My suggestions:
  • LO FIDELITY ALLSTARS - Battleflag (Ill get you the edited version)
  • Stabbing Westward- Save Yourself (Same thing again w/ edited version)
  • Filter- Hey Man Nice Shot
  • Guns'N'Roses- Paradise City
  • Guns'N'Roses- Welcome to the Jungle
  • Jane's Addiction- Just Because
  • Tommy Tutone- 867-5309(Jenny) - I agree with Paul!
  • Morris Day & The Time - Jungle Love
  • U2 -Elevation (maybe as award music...works nice)
  • U2- Desire
  • Vanilla Ice- Ninja Rap :p (my personal favorite :p)

I belive it was If I could walk 500 Miles by The Proclaimers

As for other songs I would like to hear...

311 - Down, and Beautiful Disaster. You could play these during lunch breaks so people can calm down a bit from everything they have seen.

ABBA - Dancing Queen, Just because.

ACDC - Thunderstruck, Back in Black, TNT

Aerosmith - Livin' on the edge, Dream on, Sweet Emotion.

Al Hirt - Green Hornet Theme <--- Really Fast trumpet playing good for getting the blood flowing.

Alkaline Trio - Hell Yes, We've had enough

Anything by Antiloop, Yay for European Techno.

I'll Do the B's tomorrow :D

No offense to anyone, but Coldplay doesn't really sound like something that people could (for lack of a better word) energize themselves too. Their songs are more like lullabies, but that too is another story.

Here's my list of People/Bands we should play

Genesis
ACDC
The Eagles
Bruce Springstein
Village People (Uber Techno versions ;))
Meatloaf
Jimmy Buffet

I think anything funky is awesome, stuff from the 70s is where its at kick out some stevie wonder, bobby byrd, james brown, george clinton and stuff from that time and you will get the party rokin, people also like really energetic swing music like from big bad voodoo daddy, cherry poppin daddies and others...

Now on to some other more specific songs...

Beck - Where It's at, devils haircut, tropicallia, new pollution

Prefuse 73 - The End of Biters-International

Jurassic 5 - Whats Golden, Hey

B52's - Rock Lobster

Hrvatski - Vatstep DSP

Cylob - cut the midrange drop the bass

Gorrilaz - Clint Eastwood, 19-200 (theres a remixed one thats faster and really fun)

Grand Master Flash - The Message

ok go - get over it

The Soft Pink Truth - PromoFunk

I dont feel like typing anymore so this will be enough, i have all of them so PM me if you want stuff

(many good songs)

Good ones, Andrew. Gotta love the old dance music like Rock Lobster. My kids are on a Beastie Boys kick, with their favorite being "Hey Ladies!"

I am a proud dad - my kids STILL don't know who Brittney Spears or Backstreet Boys are. And, just today, my 2-year-old was humming "We Will Rock You" by Queen.

As for what to play at IRI, just keep things mixed up (hard rock, dance, old stuff, techno, r&b, whatever) and keep 'em clean.

Guys,

Mix it up all you want, but come finals ... we need to keep it loud and jammin'!

The elimination rounds need to have songs that make you want to bang your head into a wall!

Oh, and of course, during the eliminations we will need to be dancing on the field during "robot cool off time."
