Winner

So who ended up winning? I believe that i ended up with 21 wins and 2 ties.

21 X 2 =42
+ 2 X 1= 2
---------------
44 total points. (having team 71 probably helped me out quite a bit)

can we clarify the point values? I can crunch it pretty quickly once I have that.

I am pretty sure we are doing 2 points for a win, 1 for a tie, 0 for a loss.

explanation on my scoring:
830 went 1-5-1
447 went 5-2-0
71 went 5-1-1 (+10 finals wins)

In this i am assuming team 71, the alliance captain, played every match. If i am wrong, please tell me. also, a question, Does a whole alliance (3 members) get 2 wins, or just the team that played both matches. it hink it should be the team who played both matches, because they were the only team on the field twice.

Are we counting playoffs matches. I didn't think we were.

I was under the assumption that we were counting winning scores somehow..

Re: Winner

Winning percentage and average points per round is how we're scoring this.
Quality not quanity.

Ed, I'm in the midst of crunching the numbers (I'm bored, so sue me :))

So what's the scoring system?

So what's the scoring system?

Go with wins and losses first and then take the cumalitive score for EACH AND EVERY MATCH that team played and do the cumlative average score for all of its matches. And do that for all 294 teams!
Are you still sure you want to do this, Jess?

Re: Winner

Yep. Im mid-way through.

Now, cumulative score...are you saying whatever score that they got for the round?

Yup.
Then divide it by the amount of matches and take the total.

what about the teams that play defense, instead of offense, and still when? You are kind of screwing over the people who picked those teams. Maybe we should rank teams like first does. do win points first, then an average qp for ties.

But I'm not screwing anyone over because wins still count the most. Point average is just a tie breaker. To give points on amount of wins are hardly fair. There were good robots left on the sidelines at Newton (25, 303) and often when teams pick it is because they know teams better than others and sometimes it is simply because they like or dislike a team. THAT is not fair.

So what are you saying, rank 'em, and then sum up the ranking numbers? Lowest ranking score wins?

Best winning percentage wins. If there is a tie the best winning percentage with the highest per match scoring average wins. If there is still a ite then we have to get into tie breakers like best record versus common oppennets and such.
