Fischer Price Info

A few questions on the FP motor:

1. What is the thread on the mount holes on the FP motor?
2. What is the exact diameter of the output shaft?
3. If anyone has ever pressed on a new pinion, what size hole did you drill into the new pinion for the press fit?

Thanks

You might want to consult the cad files of the motor http://www.firstcadlibrary.com/ ... you can get dimensions off of there.

That might not be the new one, also the dimensions are only as good as the measuring tool and person who took them.

The link below may help out.

I am 99% sure it is the same motor we recived in the kits. It may or may not be the same for previous years models (espically those not made by JE).

Ok, thanks guys for the info.

However, the model of the FP motor on FirstCad Lib. doesn't have a tapped hole for the mounts. I'm guessing its a metric thread (the rest of the motor is metric), but does anyone know what it is?

For whatever reason I can't find the drawing I know I have of the Fisher-Price motor, but I do have the data you need. The hole you need to put in the pinion is 0.123" +0.001". The shaft is a nominal .125" shaft with a knurl (rough lines) on it. The dimension and tolerance I gave you is what I have been using since 2001 (the shafts have not changed). The mounting holes are for M3 x 0.4 pitch screws and are 25mm apart centered on the shaft diameter.

I hope this helps.
