The fact that one of the announcers actually used the "I Am John-V-Neun" phrase in a match brings a huge smile to my face. That may be the single coolest thing I've ever heard in a match... :)

This is BEGGING to be someones ringtone.

LOL

This was classic, like usual....nothing better then the best from Dan!

What cracked me up is the people at the score table like David Kelly, Ben Lauer, Brandon Martus, Dave Ferreria, and Amanda Morrison trying to come up with these phrases and then celebrating everytime Dan used one...classic!

That seagull is as big as in IMAX

Inside joke from our team, it was our team volunteer who got him to say it.

Dan is a great announcer.

Some from Midwest:

"and the tater tots are released onto the field" (or something like that)

"...like squidword outta spogeebob"

"there go the sigmac@ts, there no technokittens"

As the announcer from Curie field I am a little jealous. I have had at other regionals and last year at Championships , people hand me words or phrases. This is so much fun and makes us think outside of the box. When you just concentrate on the game you tend to say the same things over and over. It is a tough job not to. I would like to see a new position made up as Chief Helper of Phrases (Chop) to make things more interesting. Any takers? :D

Hey Steve,

I'll be willing to be your CHOP... if you're up for the challenge. :)

I'm game, this will add a whole new dimension to the event. Be forewarned, there's nothing I love more than tossing in old song lyrics into everyday conversation.

This is more reason that all you should bring your teams up to the Canada's Wonderland Event. What could be more exciting than the MC - Announcer combo of myself and Steve Warren? That's worth the price of admission itself.

Most of the dumb little phrases, silly words, and cackling laughter came from the group of Ben Lauer, Dave Ferreira, Brandon Martus, Tom Schindler, David Kelly, and I. Between Dan Green and Ron Partridge, we had a blast with the sayings above and many more. Eventually, we went through the paper and found funny things for these two to say. I think everyone had a great time, and these guys really know how to keep the crowd on their toes.

Where's my Dippin' Dots?,

Amanda Morrison
