Re: Best Human Player????

177's human player was quite awesome and won our alliance a match because of it.

I didn't pay attention to most of the human players, though.

i think alot of the human players were very good.
unless they missed more than one a match, they should be considered excellent.

1241 was excellent as you said, and got a heck of a lot of practice; 33's human player I first saw in the VCU webcast (and later at the Canadian Regional and Archimedes) knocking shot after shot down. Very impressive and a strange but effective shooting style; my money's slightly on 33.

Re: Best Human Player????

I've got to go with 1241. There shooter was just awesome. Forget the fact that he was bang on shooting at his own stationary goal, I saw him hit a shot on the opponents stationary goal, with ease. Simply awesome.

An honorable mention goes to team 33's human player, who had that awesome quick release.

a tie between 1241's and 33's human player... i lean more to 1241's tho because i've seen more outstanding performance by them

Re: Best Human Player????

The ones that stuck out to me were 1241, 33, 93 and 201 (well, I was specifically watching theirs, though...), however... almost all of the human players were really great, most of the ones i saw while scouting hit at least 90% of their shots :)

I didn't really watch any other human players this year... Andy and I switched off on each match... I believe though out the whole season (2 regionals and nationals) he missed about 13 and I missed about 9... I wasn't really watching too many other HPs...

Terminator6 21-04-2004 19:27

Re: Best Human Player????

33 jumps right into my mind....but that has a lot to do with the number of balls they collected....they could have had a horrible shooter but the sheer number of balls they and teams like them would have made up for it...still a very good shot tho

i was watching the matches and doing match sheets (actually very interesting work) for our team and saw most teams hitting between 66 and 100% of their shots...most of the teams, also, just shot their original balls and hung...so they were hitting 2 of the 3 usually...thats what i saw anyway over on archimedes

1083's human player was awesome, i saw him shoot in about 5 matches he maybe missed 2.(And thats with a great ball collecting robot)

Hazz Matt from MOE, Team 365. Best Long-Distance Shooter in the competition. Watch Galileo Semifinal Match 2.1. He wins the match with a great shot in the closing seconds.

Go Matt!!!!
Go MOE!!!!

Yeah, that shot in the first match of our semifinals was amazing. I still can't believe it.

I didn't get to watch a lot of matches, but the times I saw Kingman (60), Amanda was in the groove. She was quick; she looked confident; and she didn't miss any of the shots I saw.

Re: Best Human Player????

I liked 33's and 1241's Human Player. Although, I have to say our team's human player was no less. At the Chesapeake regional he got badly injured in his leg and he still got 7 of 9 in, I think. Otherwise, he gets most in(except for the practice rounds in nationals where he was trying out new stuff).

Re: Best Human Player????

469 had a very good human player. He complimented his team's excellent herding/collecting strategy very well and made a great deal of his shots.

Re: Best Human Player????

93's was truly incredible, especially at regionals and 469's did really well, too!

and of course, i do have to give kudos to 269's own aaron jensen for shooting an awesome 95% throughout regionals and nationals ;)

Re: Best Human Player????

126 and 571!

I don't think I saw the Paragon guy miss once! It was incredibly! They all went swish swish swish.... (If there was a net)

And the 126 gal was quite excellent, in more ways than one... ;)

Heretic, you're good too!

Re: Best Human Player????

My vote's to 33 and 1241. Though I lean towards 33 cause I saw them in VCU and I also PICKED them in Canada for the sole reason that they could deliver balls better than anyone and could also hang (new feature). Both 33 and 1241's human players had near-perfect accuracy. 33's had a bit quicker release time though. :)

Re: Best Human Player????

Yeah, 33 and 1241 both rocked. I wanted to see some more extreme long distance shots, like all the way across the field into a mobile goal. That would have been sweet. Or, over the bar, across the field diagonally. I only got the chance to shoot once or twice in the mobile goal... they were pretty difficult unless it was within 5 to 10 feet.

Oh man, do not forget Devon from Team 45, that boy could shoot, that was sweet to watch from the sidelines when our team sat out in the Midwest Finals. Woo...

Well, thank you! I have to give credit where credit is due, however. I would never have been such a good shot if Jason Morrella hadn't have been giving me some of his shooting strategy. I learned from the best! haha.

There were a lot of great HP's out there this year. 33 and 1241 were awesome. It ws great working with them!

Re: Best Human Player????

every time our human player missed one we would give him a good kick. it's kinda like training a puppy - frustrating at first, but they learn

Re: Best Human Player????

I have to say that 177's human player was AWESOME! Nothing like those CT basketball players eh?
Our human player was above and/or with the large majority
As for 571's hp........it was like puppy training, they're at our facility all the time, they def trained him well, lol, good job jake! he turned out pretty darn good!
Anyone else ever wonder why teams didn't take out a hp that wasn't doing so hot? My team did it, and I don't know if its a personal thing or what, but if they're doing poorly, wouldn't you want someone else in? Since they are the main point scorer? Just wondering what other teams did........

Yep, Devin was good, and he got better as the pressure was on. He is only a freshman, and our two drivers are Juniors. :)

1241's shooter was awesome. Copioli was even counting his made baskets during their matches in Great Lakes. 269 had a great shooter also.

Speaking of shooters, one of the more impressive things I saw this year was when a shooter said "hey, I am not that great at shooting, and I am willing to pass the ball over to your coach and shooter". That level of honesty is very respected. 930 did that in Midwest, and they had a great drive team.

I'd like to recognize 281. Maybe not the best from what I hear, but darn near it.

that guy with the mohawk on the team that was allianced with Buzz....he made just about every single shot....and he was shooting quite a bit...buzz was unloading balls to him like crazy....he would get like 18/18 balls in every match he was in...he missed like once
