TechTV show?
 

According to their website (www.techtv.com) they aired a segment filmed at the Championship on Tuesday the 20th on their Tech Live program. Did anyone see it?

Yeah, I saw it, it was nothing impressive. Just like a 5 minute spot, I have it taped and I'll try to get it up.
I also subscribe to the show notes, Chris had some really nice things to say(I'll post them later, im a school and have no hotamil access). Also It says that FIRST will be featured on their new program "let'er rip" but I have no idea when it will be on. The site says Thursdays at 9 pm but it dosn't say when the show premieres.

That'd be great if you could get a video of that up, I know they were filming all over the place and it'd be interesting to see it and those video notes. :]

I taped it actually, thinking that it might be something about our team since they interviewed most of our drive team and me personally. However, it was pretty much a 2 minute overview of the whole FIRST competition. It was good, they made it look exciting too, so it was good press!

as far as i know, TechTV, being based in S.F., has showed up at SVR for 2 years now, but i havent heard about national coverage. Cool!

The best thing is they gave out free stuff. A lunch box, a computer mirror and a hat. Very cool. I wish they where giving out shirts.

Right after the final match when the teams were all chearing I saw a couple shots of Chris Leary interviewing people

If the one hour special becomes available on the web can someone please post a link or PM me. I'd be interested in getting a copy of it. Right now I don't recieve TechTV with my cable package.

Right Now TechTV is satellite only, but Comcast did purchase the network.

We have Cox (Central Connecticut) and have TechTV with the digital cable upgrade.

It is also in many cable markets. TechTV will soon by combined with Comcast's G4 Network

Unfortunately Cox isn't available where I am. I'm in western Connecticut and I have Optimum. I also use them for my broadband cable internet.

I dont get tech TV, but I often go over to a friend's house to watch it as it is such a great channel. When someone finds out when this one hour special will be on air will you please PM me as I would really really like to watch/record it. The bronx team that they followed had their pit next to ours in Richmond, nice group.

YAY 4 techtv... lol... i have a small personal FTP w/ unlimited d/l so if you need a place to upload the segement AIM me and i can put it up...

the new series TechTv is putting on looks awsome, espically the way they described it... a pit member of 121 (matt goulart) got intervied in the pits during one of our teams matches (he was brutally pnished later in the night) and meet both Patrick Norton and Chris Leary... so he might be in there =/... if he is... no one will be seeing him at any competition's next year =D

Most of MA or who ever has charter gets TechTV... Could not live with out...

Man i was looking on TechTV's site for when it would be on Tech Live and nothing was said. Man that stinks i missed it. Hopefully it will be on the web or someone can upload it that would be GrEaT!!

When i went to a Screen Savers recording as a guest, I got a free tshirt for eating cheese burgers (they werent bad, either)

P.S. to all you cable people-stop whining about not getting TechTV adn get satellite!

More and more cable companies are picking up TechTV on a daily basis...ive got it :p I hardly ever watch it...but ive got it :p

I'm curious, was that big boom camera on the Newton Field Saturday from TechTV? I am going to assume it is, but if it isn't, what other networks were working on making a special? Thanks.

Sorry, I'm having trouble converting my video from VHS (some of my video hardware died) so I won't be able to get that up.

But here is a segment of TechLive's show note from Monday May 19, as written by Chris Leary:

"For those of you who would kindly indulge my ego, it's nice to be back from
my trip to NYC to do "The View," and then to Atlanta for the FIRST Robotics
competition. You'll see that on an upcoming edition of our new show, "Let
'er Rip." Those of you who don't care where I was, please forgive me.

Tonight on "Tech Live," I'll have a story on that FIRST competition where
thousands of fun-loving, excited nerds competed in building and then battling
with their robots. As cheesy as this might sound, I don't remember the last
time I met so many incredibly nice, well-mannered kids. I kinda wish I was
smart when I was that age so I could have hung out with kids like them.
As for the competition, it appears they have an abundance of creativity
as well. We'll show you a bit of what I'm talking about, tonight."

Great channel. It just appeared one day on my cable channels, right around the time they started the channel. They have gone through so many changes and improvements, it’s kind of crazy to see how far they have gotten.

can't wait to see ler er rip. i was even fortunate enough to get Chris Leary's and Brendan Moran's signatures on my shirt. (i love being a FIRST volunteer :) )

tech tv was giving out shirts and hats I don't know exactly what they taped; it was either galileo finals or the einstien matches

I have the segment encoded and sitting on my server. I legally cant release a reproduction of it, but if you message me we could talk about a possible, educational release of it. (all TV networks allow it) (email, pm, or IM me)

TechTV is in Connecticut on Comcast digital cable. I found it on channel 294. I asked the camera man about when the show would air and he said there would be a 1 hour special on in late May. Look on Techtv.com to find out when it would air.

Good to know cable packages in other places have it. However, in the Bay Area, everyone has Comcast, which doesnt offer it.

I used to have techtv with Comcast but then they removed it and replaced it with the horrible YES Network.

did any1 catch the CNN interview with dean? i was in the lobby of the Omni hotel, and i saw dean on one of the tvs talking about this years game and the cheesy poofs used their machine to demonstrate how they pick up the 2x ball. it was only for about 2 min. but it was still interesting :)

actually, i believe TTV condones 'unauthorized' releases of thier programs. i know i can recall Leo saying he always liked seeing Screen Savers episodes posted on KaZaA.

PLEASE, someone tape the show!
I think our team (RAPTAR) was in quite a few shots, and I'd like to see the program in general.
If someone can tape it and upload it (probably in sgments since its 1 hour) that'd be great!!!
