question for cd

I am a lazy person. Let me get that out first.

When I am viewing a large thread and want to go back to the portal, I have to scroll all the way to the top. No it is not difficult, but I was wondering if it might be possible to place a link on the bottom of the page as well? It is just a suggestion. I mean nothin against CD.

I agree--

Brandon, can you make some sort of mind-reading device that i can just think "portal" and i'll go back? surely this can't be too difficult?

Hitting the 'Home' key on your keyboard will automatically scroll back to the top of a page.

There is one already. If you go to the bottom and click Chief Delphi it will take you back to the portal.

or or or if you are really SPECIAL and you have a 5 buttoned mouse you can set the two side buttons as backward and foward for websites so you click on the far left button and it takes you back a page.... :D

You could just hit the backspace key and that will take you to the previous page.

I would just like to say that this is the best thread ever. Especially that mind reading crack - major kudos on that one, Tom.

In the interest of laziness, I give you my favorite windows shortcut:

Go to "calculator" in the Start-->Programs menu and right click on it
Go to "Properties", and in the "Shortcut Key" box, hit "Ctrl + Alt + C".

Now, whenever you hit those three buttons, the calculator pops up.

I also have it setup for Paint and Notepad.

I think that a portal button beside the next thread/previous thread would be great. Brandon I am so glad that you are willing to act on suggestions like these. I know that you can make it happen. :)

I'll see what I can do...

Re: question for cd

Alright. Here is what I recommend. Chiefdelphi should set up matrix.chiefdelphi.com. Then run coax cable to every FIRST person's home. Brain jacks are recommended to enjoy the experience.

I think that we could find people willing to give a grant for something like that...

You could always use mouse gestures, if your browser is so endowed ;) Or, on the off-the-wall chance that you're using IE, you could use alt-left arrow to go back to. Much quicker than having to locate a small link and then click on it. (Just remember, laziness is a virtue of a programmer. You're 1/3 of the way there!)
