William Hung
Is William Hung not the biggest loser alive? I mean, seriously. He was a LOSER in American Idol for a REASON! He is NOT very talented! Why is he getting a record deal? Why do the girls love him? Please, someone tell me! Chatting on AIM, all I hear is "omg william hung haz new CDs OMG" and I'm like "omg shut up lol."
But seriously. He's NOT that hot, he's NOT a very good singer and he DOESN'T dress very well. Enough said. Since when do people like that become our "American Idols?" What is this world coming to? :( |
Re: William Hung
Hell yes.
Anyone who says no is pretty pathetic. Who bets this thread gets locked? |

General FIRST related info.
This should be in the chit-chat forum. I'm moving it now. |
Re: William Hung
William Hing is not very attractive. He has virtually no musical talent. However, he still is an inspiration to engineering students everywhere that someday we may be a part of pop culture too.

Let's pretend for a second that William Hung has an ounce of talent. I know it's tough. * * * * Okay? Alright. Now he deserves a Grammy. ;) |
Re: William Hung
Since when have Grammy's or any other award been given out in the music industry for someone who deserves it?? It's basically a numbers game. You sell a lot of albums, you get the award. Case closed.Dare I even bring up the Grammy Best New Artist award won by Milli Vanilli in 1989 and then taken back in 1990?

Re: William Hung
I hope someone at least sat down and explained to that poor kid that the reason he is so popular
is because his 'fans' are supporting him as a backlash against American Idol not because he's a great singer, dancer, performer or because he's such a hunk! :ahh: |
Re: William Hung
Sorry, but I have to wholeheartedly disagree. Just because you may not like his music does not necessarily mean he has no talent. The primary function of singers and dancers is to entertain audiences. Whether you may personally like his music, it can't be denied that he does entertain many people.
Beyond the singing itself, there is his attitude, succintly described in his famous line "I did my best, and I have no regrets at all." I think that, more than anything else, is what has won him the admiration of so many. and besides, he goes to UC Berkeley, so he must be a great guy ;) |
Re: William Hung
I despise that man. All my friends at Cal do as well. In fact, one of them beat Will Hung in a karaoke competition...yes that isn't saying much, is it?
|
Re: William Hung
If he can win a grammy, that gives hope for the rest of us. hmm... maybe Woodie Flowers should start a band.
|
Re: William Hung
I got a qustion. What category or genre is Will's album in?Comedy?I was bored when I thought about this and now it's just bothering me.

Re: William Hung
Personally, I don't get it. The guy has no talent in the music area, whatsoever. He can't sing, can't dance and his stage presence stinks. I was reading through this week's Entertainment Weekly and found their Review of his CD, "Inspiration". For those who haven't seen it, here's the review:
Artist: William Hung Album: Inspiration Grade: F "The joke behind Chinese-American engineering student William Hung appearing on ''American Idol'' had everything to do with context. Amid the relentless stream of proficient contestants, the dorky Hung was a jarring diversion: someone who could neither sing nor dance yet managed to sneak onto that stage anyway. The only problem was that the joke was thin, obvious, and campy at best, down to the snicker-snicker his last name elicited from the audience. "Hung's moment in the pop-culture sun should have ended there, but such is not the way contemporary entertainment (or anything associated with ''American Idol'') works. So now we're blessed -- or cursed -- with Inspiration, an entire album of Hung hatchet jobs along the lines of his mangling of the smarmy Ricky Martin hit ''She Bangs.'' On what is essentially a taped karaoke session, the hapless wannabe takes a crack at tunes from the Martin, Phil Collins, and Elton John songbooks, among others, accompanied by synthetic-sounding, low-rent backing tracks. "Presumably, ''Inspiration'' is meant to be comical, a silly novelty album that, in its demented way, is a parody of the smooth, steely singing and top-dollar productions of Clay Aiken and Kelly Clarkson albums. Hung's strangulated delivery will surely begin popping up on outgoing messages of answering machines nationwide. But only those with the most sophomoric sense of humor will find anything amusing about it. Hearing Hung go flat for entire songs, or ignominiously failing to reach the high notes in ''Rocket Man'' or ''I Believe I Can Fly,'' isn't even good karaoke -- it's pathetic, painful, and sad. And if Hung is in on the joke -- the jury's still out on that one, since he seems to take his newfound career very seriously -- it doesn't make the album any more tolerable or any less exploitive. "By now, hideous singing on record is nothing to get worked up over. In past decades, we've had to deal with everyone from William Shatner to schizophrenic indie-rock icon Wesley Willis. ''Inspiration'' adds a particularly ugly race card to this time-honored tradition. From the way Hung mispronounces ''perseverance'' in one of the album's spoken interludes (it comes out as ''per-sa-re-vance'') to the way he vocalizes as if he had bitten off the tip of his tongue, we're meant to laugh at him, not with him. He's a horrific stereotype of the clueless foreigner desperately trying to conform and be ''American'' by wearing logo-emblazoned sweatshirts and singing middlebrow pop. His inability to fit in may make unenlightened listeners feel superior, especially in light of recent global events. Even in a business with a high threshold for shame, ''Inspiration'' is shameless. Despite its title, there's nothing in the least bit inspirational -- and everything repugnant -- about it." -- EW |
Re: William Hung
I for one would love to see Mr. Hung open up the 2005 FIRST Nationals with his version of Mr. Roboto.

Re: William Hung
The Chiefdelphi forums have dropped to an all time low: discussing American Idol.

Re: William Hung
Personally, I'm of the school of thought that says William Hung has no singing ability.
But what he lacks in singing I hope he makes up for in business savvy, as the CD seems to be selling semi-decently. This could definitely net him some bucks--if he played his cards right. |

Re: William Hung
I definitely dont think he can sing or dance. His music video was on yesterday and I was slightly disturbed by the badness of it ...
In a newspaper article one day, it was saying how he didnt know that he was a big joke and he actually thinks he can sing and dance well. |
Re: William Hung
I don't know...
If it had some catchy techno beats, a list of people that the song is featuring that's longer than the actual song, and a bass that makes the songs unhearable (This could be a real word), then there's a strong possiblity it could pass "Now 37.5" on the Billboards Music Chart. |

It's funny to listen to also :p |
Re: William Hung
I was listening to a radio commercial on KISS FM for the Wango Tango music event at the Rose Bowl and they were listing all the singers who were going to be there: Jessica Simpson, Hillary Duff, Maroon 5, Outkast, Hillary Duff, Janet Jackson, etc. I'm like OMG, I SO want to go to Wango Tango. And then they say Willam Hung. I don't want to go anymore.

Re: William Hung
I think W.H. should quit while he's ahead. I think it's honestly pathetic though giving the spotlight to someone who's just a laugh to everyone. It's like making Slipknot or Marilyn Manson do ballay (sp?)

Re: William Hung
I just downloaded a clip of this....
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS WORLD?!!?!?!?!?! |
Re: William Hung
You know my mom told me he said he is a better singer than an engineer in an interview..........

Re: William Hung
Hmm.... mabey we can get him to sign at Champs, a la Mandy Moore. ;)
Personally, the guy needs to move on. If there is anyone sadder than him, it's the people who buy his CD and kept it on the iTunes top 10 alblums for a month or so.... |
Re: William Hung
ok... so william huang isn't that hot, but he's pretty cool anyways... i mean i sing just like him *that's a bad sign* he's pretty funny so i admire him for that even if that was unintentional :D
