Alright with less than 4 weeks until the San Diego Scrimmage, it's time to bring life back into this thread. Nationals and the FIRST robotics competitions are over now. California has suddenly made a slow transition into becoming a major powerhouse which was obvious by the number of teams on Einstein field. With just the teams we had last year, the competition this year would be tough. We hope that everyone that came last year comes this year and hopefully this will encourage a lot more teams to come. So far from the threads I've read, 980 and 696 might be coming. Come on 330 (National Champs), the rest of California, Arizona, and all FIRST teams, where are you?

330 is still recovering from all the screaming we did in the finals. Most of us still can't talk. Also since we are homeschoolers, we don't necessarily meet as often as other teams. So sometimes it takes us a while to make decisions. On the other hand once we actually DO decide, we implement with incredible speed.

We are also suddenly in demand. For example, we have mentors working at JPL, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon, all of us are being asked for presentations or write-ups this week, in addition to catching up with our regular projects. Other teams got back to their home airport and went home. We had to run to a press conference arrainged by FIRST. (Not that we object, it is one of those problems you like to have)

I can't speak for the whole team, but a significant fraction wants to go down and play in San Diego. Give us a week or two to get our real lives back in some kind of order. We would rather keep you hanging for a couple of weeks than say we will be there and suddenly find a conflict we can't get around.

We should probably keep this discussion in the other thread http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=37465 as to not confuse with 2004 but yes we are definitely going.
