Re: What's your mentor makeup?
MOE 365 has more than just DuPont engineers, although there are many of them. We are lucky to have such a diverse group with different skills. There are engineers from other companies, IT and computing experts, teachers, alumni who go to local colleges, and many other professions (including a mortician). Everyone helps out where they can - the students once met in a funeral parlor to practice a fund-raising presentation.
Originally the team was formed with DuPont engineers but we have branched out considerably since then. Many parents help out and many stay part of the team when their student graduates. One mentor we call our No. 1 Groupie. He went to a regional several years ago out of curiosity, and liked MOE so much he hung out with us all day, went to see us at EPCOT, and even went up to get a medal when we won! This was several years ago and he still is a valued part of the team. |
Re: What's your mentor makeup?
Our mentor makeup is:
10 or less engineers (some don't come on a regular basis, but they're still there to help) 1 business mentor (our beloved Miss Jenny) 1 advisor (wonderful Mr. Mason) all of our parents (they provide meals, and some have helped with the spirit aspects of our team, including pom-poms, hats, our flart jars, tool keychains, etc.) about 30 teachers (they watch us when our head advisor can't watch us when we meet) annnd..that's it. :D --d0ri |
Re: What's your mentor makeup?
We have (more or less) 6 mentors that actually came out to the shop this past year, we have more but were unable to contact them. We have 3 Mechanical Engineers, 2 Programmers, and 1 Electrical Engineer, all from Lockheed Martin.
