Re: inventor to solidworks

SolidWorks has direct input ability for Inventor part files only. If they are Inventor assemblies, you need to convert to a neutral format. I have been importing Inventor to SolidWorks since 2001Plus using Step files. Just convert the Inventor file (part or assembly) to STEP and open the STEP file in SolidWorks. I have never had a problem importing this way, but if you have problems just send me a zipped version of your files and I can see what is wrong.
