Fantasy FIRST for the Offseason Competitions

So does anyone want to do Fantasy FIRST for the offseason comps?
I need a list of who is where and then match results to make it happen.
So is this feasible?

Little late for PARC but if someone can provide me a list of any other competitions then we can do those ones.

I know IRI is July 9/10, but that's a little far in the distance for my Fantasy FIRST addiction. There will be a competition in San Diego on May 22, which I plan to attend. If I'm there I'll keep track of all the matches and everything.

That would be a good thing.
Anybody got a list?

ChiefDelphi has the counter list at the top of the page, there are some events there listed, Beantown Blitz (May 22), Battlecry@WPI (June 18), IRI (July 9), CalGames (October 2), and Sweet Repeat (October 23). I'm sure there are other events, but I don't know when and where.

So which event should we focus on first?

Re: Fantasy FIRST for the Offseason Competitions

First off, I'd like to get in on it this time.

Second, I'd have to say you should focus on the IRI first. I think it's the biggest of all of them, and it will definately be the most competitive.

Re: Fantasy FIRST for the Offseason Competitions

IRI and WPI are the first 2 biggest one's of the summer IMO... 42 and 60 teams respectivley...

Actually getting off my la-zy behind I looked at the calandar and noticed that the Wonderland event was first (I may actually attend that one and do some networking for the FingerLakes Regional. Our team picnic is that day as well so I'm torn) so the Canadian event will be forst. Then Battlecry.

Eh.
These are rather small so they shouldn't be too much trouble.

Sorry I didn't officially mention before, but I'll throw my hat into the ring.

And Koko Ed if you want, I might be able to take over if you ever need help or want to take some time-off (*cough*slacker*cough* :D ).

Count me in, I wasn't able to get in on the action for the national first, so i def. want in on the off season comps.

P.S. In the eastern region I know that team 25 is holding at least 2, Plus theres Duel on the Delaware, Ramp Riot, Bash on the Beach, among others. so we have a plethera to choose from.

What should be changed from what was done during the championship?
Any suggestions?

Levin571 09-05-2004 22:42

Re: Fantasy FIRST for the Offseason Competitions

first off we go by the selection sheets, i think everyone who joins has to sent in a selection sheet of their top however many teams are in the tourney sheet so no mass confusion of times and so no going till midnight again.
Also we should decide a "prize" beforehand (i still don't know what the prize was last time [for second place, lol])
Besides that i think it should run just like last time which worked out pretty well in the end.

I think we should do the fantasy FIRST for the IRI tournement because of all the amazing teams that are going to be there (i think including the nationals winners)

How about BTB.
In 12 days, fairly large competition. Stacked field with mostly all east coasters. It may not be an IRI but it is close.

Why not test the water in Fantasy FIRST offseason with the newest off season's around, that is to take place in less than 2 weeks.

That's right! Beantown Blitz is on May 22nd and would be a great opportunity to start those points for "Fantasy FIRST - Off Season Edition".

Website for the event is HERE

List of teams is HERE

Re: Fantasy FIRST for the Offseason Competitions

Just a suggestion... maybe make a offical thread for each event for those who want to sign up for each to make it more organized, and easier to access how many people who will be singing up for each event, and have a max of 2 or 3 off-season events for each person and then total up the final cumulative scores at the end of the year or after the last off-season event =D

I think the new vb3 will help. Next to the username is a handy online/ offline bubble. So now, no more checking with the active user list if the person has previously posted on that thread to see if they are online to make their pick. YAY!!!

Re: Fantasy FIRST for the Offseason Competitions

I think we need to start dividing people up into divisions for Beantown Blitz.
Which means that a division of up to 12 players each.
You guys can claim up to 11 frineds you want to compete with.
Make it snappy. :)

Koko, are the divisions teams, or are they little brackets with which a group of 12 compete in?
Thanks

Re: Fantasy FIRST for the Offseason Competitions

I got how the divisions work.

Now I was wondering what the winner's prize is this time. Specificly for BtB because the drafts are getting organized and people are signing up and making divisions. This is being discussed some what in the BtB division 2 thread, but I thought I would shift it over here, because it is the main offseason Fantasy FIRST thread.
Thanks

-Henry
