Upgraded to vBulletin 3.0.1

So, we are now running the most current version of vBulletin. It's funny, this is the version I had hoped to be running back in November. Oh well, it's here.. hooray.

The biggest thing you'll notice is they finally released the new graphics. Everything is all 3D/professional/etc looking. It takes some getting used to, but shouldn't be too big of a deal. You may want/need to clear your cache, to see all of the new graphics. There is no 'Spotlight This Post' icon yet. I have to make one. No need to report this as a bug.

Let me know if anything is weird. I went through the major functionality and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. I hope you all had enough time to get your Andy Baker video done while I was upgrading. Enjoy.

-Brandon

just to let everyone know...I think it is amazing that you can see who is online and not that has posted in any thread.

Very nice Brandon. :) Not only do the smilies have different colors so do all the icons for the posts. One question, why do the rep point green boxes show up in light and dark green?

Dark green ---> light green every 5 rep boxes. I guess it's an easier way to count them

Re: Upgraded to vBulletin 3.0.1

As David said, I can't find any special meaning. It looks like those over 5 are a different color.

Wow...if you put the cursor over the rep blocks they say stuff now.
*is really easily amused and thanks Tom for showing her this*

I knew you were slow, but... ;)

Re: Upgraded to vBulletin 3.0.1

I should've looked harder:

From vBulletin.com forums:
Bright green dots are better than dark green dots and the more dots you have, the higher the reputation. Having any bright dots at all means you have a higher reputation than someone who only has dark green dots. Same thing with the red dots, just in reverse.

The maximum number of dots you will see is 11 (in the current system).

Reputation

-99 to 0
0 to 99
100 to 199
200 to 299
300 to 399
400 to 499

Once you hit 500, you will start gaining bright green dots on top of the 5 dark dots but it takes twice as much to gain a bright green dot.

500 to 699
700 to 899
900 to 1099
1100 to 1299
1300 to 1499
1500 and up

Negative values work pretty much the same way except it shows balanced (grey dot) from -99 to 0.

I think i may have found a strange bug: I dont have an edit button on any of my posts except for one. Yes i have checked that im logged in and everything. I think that was the first post i made since the upgrade, so that probably has some relation to the problem

Greg Ross 12-05-2004 19:44

No edit button?

You shouldn't have an edit button for any posts that are more than (a certain time) old.

Found a bug... (and the fix)

This thread:
http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...threadid=28541

says that logout isn't working.

It seems that the link the logout command takes you to is:
http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/login.php?do=logout, the error page sends me to:
http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/login.php?do=logout?u=nnnn
(where nnnn is the user's id).

Maybe the script needs to be changed to send the user directly to that link.

But, this is a low priority bug, because the error page eventually gets the user to clear the cookies.

Re: Upgraded to vBulletin 3.0.1

Yeah, they changed the way the system logs out, and the link is in a custom header template that I ignored (not realizing they changed that one link).

All should work now.

Re: Upgraded to vBulletin 3.0.1

You can only edit a thread for 24 hours, and then the edit button disappears.

Does the Active Users not show spiders anymore? 23+21=44...not 57.

Re: Upgraded to vBulletin 3.0.1

Ahh, I need to add that. Should be there now.

I know I can't edit a post after 24 hours.

But I made a post 3 minutes ago, and I can't edit it!

Oh, the FantasyFIRST forum is a sub-forum of the games forum, which has restrictions on editing. I changed the permissions on that forum, you should be good to go, now.

It looks like you went back to the old smilies. Was this intentional? (Personally, I liked the old ones better.)

The new ones are still up. Perhaps your cookies are confused, clear your cache and the new ones should be the ones that will show up.

Never mind. I thought I had already seen the new smilies on this computer, so I assumed they had been reverted. But apparently not. Now I see them. :o

The old ones may come back. I'm not really liking the technicolor smilies that much, and have had a few negative comments on them via PM, as well.
