Wear Data on Titanium Machining

Hi,

I am a grad. student looking for any data of Tool-wear measurements of titanium machining at different cutting conditions. This would contribute to a modelling project.

I would greatly apppreciate if anyone has any resources of this kind or know where to look for them.

Though im sure you already checked this out, this google search has a couple of useful results. I didn't come across any actual measurements of wear, but there seems to be a lot of related information.

In my quest for information on feeds, speeds, depth of cuts, etc., I was reminded today of the wealth of information that can be found in the Machinery's Handbook (latest is v.26). I know they have info on machining titanium, as well as tool wear. I would take a look in there. If nothing else, it may give you some extra keywords to search for on the 'net.

marias,

PM me and I will get in contact with our machining supplier who machines some pretty complicated stuff for us out of titanium. I need to know things like your real name and where you are from so I can tell my supplier that you will be calling.

Thanks guys !

I have gone through most of what google had to offer. Most of the documents depict data in charts rather than in figures. But they are good enough.

The handbook suggest optimum speeds, etc. and corresponding tool lifes. It was helpful, thanks.

Will appreciate if you know of any more resources.
