Ah yes, good old LISP. I tried to learn that at one point. Then I decided I was too sane.
And I am terribly sorry for starting this holy war. I think we should all lay down our prejudice and realize that it dosent matter what editor you use. All that matters is how well your code works. You can just make it work a lot faster if you use vim.
And, just for the record:
Windows is the work of the devil but cant be avoided so just learn to live with it (carry knoppix around with you)
OSX is awesome (because it is UNIX based)
Linux is awsome
but Amiga pwnz all

Was the last mac you used an iMac running OS < 9?

The last one i used was really overpriced. It was connected to a really overpriced lcd screen. Next to it was a really overpriced iPod.

It's OS X I haven't really used. I used to be able to use OS 9 whenever (Then school got out).

That explains it!
I would say 99% of the 'I HATE MACS!' crowd have only used OS9. I dont blame them one bit. I hate OS9 just as much as anyone else.
Its OSX thats the real beauty. Think of this: A UNIX system that you can just boot and run; no setting things up for hours on end. Then, throw on a really pretty user interface (that has also been very well designed), a lot of software compatibility (all open-source software and most proprietary software has been ported over to OSX because it is just so easy (again, thanks to the UNIX base)).
Anyway, this is totally off topic, so I will stop ranting now, but I think you should go to your local apple dealer and give a G5 a try before you bash macs too much.

Most of that list has been in windows since 95 (as horrible as it was). Any good application will follow similar guidelines (except localization). And someone seeing me in an Apple store would be embarissing. :)

Here's my oppinion: they are different but equal. It's just that Windows holds a software and hardware majority.
