Potentiometer

Does anyone know where I may get a good potentiometer? I'm looking to design some new controls and a potentiometer would be the only way to do what I'm looking for.

Check Radioshack. our small store has pots, and they look similar to what we used this year (i'm not an electrical dude, just trying to help).

www.newarkinone.com and www.future-active.com are two sites with very large catalogs of electronics parts including potentiometers of all kinds.

Digikey is another source with a variety of types available. Know your size limits, what diameter shaft and mounting bushing (if any) you need and the power dissipation required. (1/2 watt, 1 watt, etc.)

What would be the best wattage if it were to be hooked up to the 2004 RC? 2004 OI? If I remember, we hooked up a 100k, 1/4 watt, pot that I got from Jameco and it got fairly hot and tripped the OI, but I think when we used them on the RC it worked fine. Hmmm? I fairly sure we wired it correctly to the PORT pinouts.

1/2 watt or 1 watt should be fine.

if you have any old joysticks you don't need anymore, try taking them apart. each joystick contains 2 pots. also, if you want help with designing you own custom anolog control mechanism, you should talk to my team. we made a "voodo" arm controller that won us the innovation in control award at the jersey regional
