High Score tied at San Diego

I was told that 980 and 330 scored 230 at the competition in San Diego.

So, who's going to raise the scoring bar this offseason? You east coasters and midwesterners aren't going to let the West Coast share in your offensive glory, are you? :p

Yes, the high scoring match was 230. 980 and 330 it was just complete dominance on their part. They were teams 1 and 2, and together they created the 1st alliance. That match, 330 got to the bar quick, with 980 corraling flawlessly and great shooting.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't even think 980 got the 10 pt autonomous knock off that match, because of some great defense on the other side. Once 980 got the 2x ball, they rotated to go knock off the 10 pt ball, and then they were smacked by the movable goal maneuvered by the other team. Miraculously, them and 330 were still able to make 13 shots and cap the coal+ 2 robots hanging of course.

I shall make a very bold prediction!

The 230 mark will be broken at Battlecry 5 by the mighty northeast!!!

You heard it here first.

well lets see elign... this is what is needed.... 2 killer bots... 1 that does small balls and hangs, or just hangs, and another that caps and hangs, or does it all (cap, small ball, hang) i can see this being broken by teams like... 88, 121, 126, 175, 176, 177, 237, 571 (do they hand??), 782, and other great hangers... i would say it would be 3 balls from the ball drop in the mobile (15), then 12 in the stationary capped (120), and 2 robots hanging (100) 15 + 120 + 100 = 235... easily broken =D (i think!?!)

(i added in 177 cause i forgot they where gonna be there and i forgot they hung =X)

I am looking forward to seeing at least a 250 at IRI. :) . . .perhaps, if no balls fall out of goals.

But the northeast is the King of defense, right? You wouldn't want the highest score to come from the best defensive region, right?

We may be defensive, but we are versatile! Plus, we do have some very capable offensive powerhouses attending. My guess is that you will see one or two of the six following teams as part of the 230+ point alliance...121, 126, 173, 175, 177, and/or 571. Everyone I named with the exception of 121 has extremely good small ball capability. 121's effectiveness with the big balls and the fact that they are so hungry for that 230 point round, sends them into Battlecry as the heavy favorite to score the big one!

Remember...we in the northeast are ready to start proving a point to all you crazy midwesterners...next year, ITS ON! ;)

Re: High Score tied at San Diego

According to some very rough calculations and some very rough assumptions as to how many balls can fit in a scoring area...

Well, if about 15 balls can fit into a stationary goal, and that is capped, and all four yellow balls are in there, that is a score of 190 right there.

If eight balls can fit into the mobile goal, and that is capped, that is another 80.

And if both robots hang, that is another 100.

So we're looking at a rough, potential ultimate score of 370.

I know that in a practice round with Hyper 69 at manchvegas, we scored well over 200 points when we filled up both goals (or nearly filled up), capped both, and then Hyper hung. Of course, that was during a practice match, and we were never able to duplicate that in a game, although we did get a score of 165 in our match together, I do believe...

Kudos to whoever has these high scores!

Oh, and also--if anyone breaks the high score, it will be an alliance of two teams like Hyper 69 and an efficient ball herder like our own. We may be trying to get into Battlecry, but we probably won't have enough kids to do it. Buzz doesn't have a bad ball herder, though...

At nationals we had the stationary goal filled with 19 or 20 balls, when we capped one or two fell out, leaving 18. This totaled 180pts in balls + 50pts for our alliance partner hanging = 230pts
