FIRST Jeopardy 2.0! (5/25)

Okay, since we're a day behind, the first Double Jeopardy will go up at midnight eastern tonight. Now, to finish theme week, astronomy for 500, when it comes to absolute magnitude, this star is the brightest. Remember to PM me within 50 minutes.

Surprisingly, no one got this.

5/25

Are you sure about that answer? I'm no astronomer and don't really know how absolute magnitude works, but according to this page there are a number of stars with an absolute magnitude value lower (brighter) than that of Vega.

Yeah, that chart is off... but it turns out I also screwed up when I looked at my charts on my computer. My computer has Deneb, followed by Mu Sagitarius.

For the record, apparent magnitude is a star's brightness as seen from Earth, however absolute magnitude is a star's brightness from 10 parsecs.
