The Polar Express

I was watching the Today show this morning and they were talking about a movie that will be coming out soon called The Polar Express. As a kid, that was my absolute favorite book of all time, come to think of it now that I remember the story, it still is my favorite book of all time. So, who's going to go see it? Here's the link http://polarexpressmovie.warnerbros.com/

I've seen previews/ posters for this movie, and I for one am definately going to see it. Nit just because It was one of my favorite books growing up, but it ALSO has Tom Hanks, and anything with Tom Hanks is good...except for Big, that was a "Big" dissapointment.

Would it be my favorite of all time if it wasn't any good? It is a children's book. You can see a little bit about it here http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/0395...47#reader-link

From the Publisher
"Late one Christmas Eve after the town has gone to sleep, the boy boards the mysterious train that waits for him: The Polar Express bound for the North Pole. When he arrives, Santa offers the boy any gift he desires. The boy modestly asks for one bell from the harness of a reindeer. The gift is granted. On the way home the bell is lost. On christmas morning the boy finds the bell under the tree. The mother of the boy admires the bell, but laments that it is broken—for you see, only believers can hear the sound of the bell."

Polar Express is one of my all-time favorite little kid's books ... right up there with "Good, Better, Best" by Stan & Jan Berenstain and "Sleepy Squirrel" by Amye Rosenberg. ;)

I never heard of the Polar Express until I saw the Lionel Catalog. The movie isn't even out yet and venders are starting to sell merchandise based on it. Looks like I'm going to have to go see it after all to see what all the hype is about. And for the childhood I missed out on. :p

I absolutely loved that book...it's definitely one of my favorite children's books, along with "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" by Dr. Seuss and "The Hair Book" by Graham Tether.

I remember loving the book, but I don't remember the story. How about an executive summary?
