What's the pimpest thing you've done with one?

Alright, so we all know we can hook them in with an aircraft radio and make a mobile base, capable of moving under control and autonomy. But what's the pimpest (superlative of pimp) you or your team has done with an Edubot/Robovation/Beta?

allow it to collect dust, and then allow it to disappear... not too pimp...sorry.

Same thing happened to ours, we think. One freshman took it home and claimed to have brought it back, but it was basically never seen again.

We created an edu-bot which we named Artel in honor of a former middle school student. He had the funniest way of saying "Uumm." It was much higher pitched then his normal voice and just hilarious. We still joke around and when we don't know the answer to a question we let out a high pitched "uuummm."

Anyway, we use the edu-bot Artel for trying out new sensors. It's convienient because we can easilly take it home with us.

We turned ours into a mini pimpmobile with a little robopimp that wore a purple suit complete with a purple hat and green feather. Not really.

Last year we actually got it to follow masking tape on a desk perfectly...even when our programmer left the roll of tape on the desk and the robot pushed it and itself off.

Not really pimp, but I think it would have been cool if we did make it into a mini pimpmobile though. :)

we used it to make a replica of the Shrimp high mobility rover. its pretty cool, and it comes pretty close to working as well as the original. if you don't know what I'm talking about, look here or here.

perhaps not pimp in and of itself, but still cool. I guess if we really wanted to we could put rims on it.

I made a hovering robot simular to Tytus'. The best part about it was that it was an english project!

last year we made a mini remote-controlled segway. it was up on our website for some time as "team hammond knocks 'em down" but has since been removed.

Superedubot. We decided to hook up some bosches with no gearbox to some 6" wheels, bolt this onto the edubot chassis and watch it fly across the parking lot.

**This project has not yet been completed. We started it after the 2003 season but it keeps getting pushed aside by other projects- read superdrive (nextgen drive train we've been working on), MOGO (full size segway we built), or the holonomic drive I built for my senior research project at school after this season. Poor Superedubot, we just keep getting distracted.

My programing team thought it would be funny to have their edu-bot follow people around our mock playing field, down the hall, waited at the bath room door and continued to follow into the shop. Remote controll of course, but they did use some sensors for line trackig, and programed it to dead rekon out the door and down the hall.

That'd be a cool program. Especially the waiting at the bathroom door part. Someone actually put reflectors on the back of her (?) shoes and made the edu follow that.
