Riddle me this
Got a riddle that will stump everyone? If so post it here.
I'll start; If it takes six men six days to dig six holes how long would it take one man to dig half a hole? |
Re: Riddle me this
You can't dig half a hole
|
Re: Riddle me this
How about this:
What is more evil than the devil, poor people have it, and rich people need it? |
Re: Riddle me this

You are walking through a field, and you find something to eat. It doesn't have bones, and it doesn't have meat. You pick it up and put it into your pocket. You take it home and put it on a shelf, but 3 day's later it walks away. What is it?

A man was outside taking a walk when it began to rain. He did not have an umbrella and he wasn't wearing a hat. His clothes were soaked, yet not a single hair on his head got wet. How could this happen?
|
Re: Riddle me this
i'm guessing he was bald
|
Re: Riddle me this
Ughh.. Riddles.
But this one should get me one etra credit point in my English class. How well do you know your classic literature? "What goes on four feet in the morning, two feet at noon, and three feet in the evening?" |
Re: Riddle me this
How far can you walk into the forest?
What can you put in a barrel, that can be seen by the naked eye, that will make it lighter (in weight)? |
Re: Riddle me this
you can put a hole in the barrel!!

Four feet (hands and knees, crawling) in the morning of life (childhood). Two feet in the middle of life. Three feet (feet and a cane) in the evening of life (elderlyhood?). Never read Oedipus, though. I heard it somewhere else. I can run but never walk. I have a mouth but never talk. I have a bed but never sleep. I have a head but never weep. |

Re: Riddle me this
A bucket is sitting out in the rain. If the wind begins to blow and rain starts falling at an angle, will the bucket fill up faster or slower, or will the rate of filling remain the same?
(a) Faster (b) Slower (c) Would fill at the same rate |
Re: Riddle me this
either b or c.
|
Re: Riddle me this
I think C.
|
Re: Riddle me this
Right. C because the 'opening area' is the same.
I'm putting my money down on C. |

It will decrease, because the wind just blew the bucket away. =)

ok try this one; if you drop a steel ball weighing five pounds from a height of 45 inches, will it fall more rapidly through water at 20 degrees Fahrenheit or water at 40 degrees Fahrenheit. (a) The ball will fall more rapidly through water 20 degrees Fahrenheit (b) The ball will fall more rapidly through water 40 degrees Fahrenheit (c) Both would fall at the same rate |
Re: Riddle me this
B. Water's a solid at 20 degrees Fahrenheit.
|
Re: Riddle me this
Quote:
Doesn't it depend on the atmospheric pressure? Water won't freeze at certain pressures, even if it's at 20 degrees. *Nerdy AP Chem moment of the day* So technically couldn't the answer be both? Hehe. Ok I'll shut up now :p |

Birds, beasts, trees, flowers; Gnaws iron, bites steel: Grinds hard stones to meal; Slays king, ruins town, And beats high mountain down. Extra credit if you know where it's from. |

I got one:
A woman stayed up late one night reading a book. When she finished she went up stairs, turned out the lights, and went to bed. When she woke up the next day, she found out that a boat ran ashore and everyone on the boat died. Even though she didn't know anyone abord, she committed suicide. Why? |

When those survivors are buried, several years later, they will be buried in their countries of origin. Except for one guy from America, who went to Bermuda on a vacation and died there.

A boy was at a carnival and went to a booth where a man said to the boy, "If I write your exact weight on this piece of paper then you have to give me $50, but if I cannot, I will pay you $50."
The boy looked around and saw no scale so he agrees, thinking no matter what the carny writes he'll just say he weighs more or less. In the end the boy ended up paying the man $50. How did the man win the bet? |
Re: Riddle me this
The man wrote "your exact weight" on the piece of paper as he promised? :D

Ooh I have quite a few -- here's one, for now!
We are very little creatures; all of us have different features. One of us in glass is set; one of us you'll find in a jet. Another you may see in tin, a fourth is boxed within. If the fifth you should pursue, it will never fly from you. What are we? |
Re: Riddle me this
A, E, I, O, U! ^___^ that was hard though...
Okay try this one, it's hard: Old Mother Twitchett had but one eye, and a long tail which she let fly; and every time she went through a gap, a bit of her tail she left in a trap. What is she? --d0ri |

Then pick up 31 and drop of 5 more. Then pick up 12 and drop of 22. How old is the bus driver? The concept on that is old... but, hey, you can't have everything. :) |
