bharat at njfirst dot org aim: teknobramha I can help a considerable amount with that stuff. If someone is willing to give me a start, I can help in programming and designing too, although I don't have too much real time experience in that stuff. Let me know if anyone is willing, I am a fast learner on "how to" use applications. |
Re: FVG: Group sign up.
I can find things online like files and stuff i can also help out around here on Chief Delphi. I really don't know that much about the other stuff.

Re: FVG: Group sign up.
Thank you all for your support! I am hopping to be able to put this up on Sourceforge and keep it open source (though the engine choice may prevent this). As for an internal name, is FIRST Video Game ok? (this name is not what it is published as, just for signing up on SourceForge)

My skills: Advanced knowledge of: * C/C++ * Visual Basic * Java * PHP * DirectX (Direct3D/DirectMusic/etc.) Intermediate knowledge of: * OpenGL * Perl I tried writing a FIRST video game earlier ... maybe I can contribute some of that code. |
Re: FVG: Group sign up.
We may just be able to do this... :)
Great job with the volunteering! |
Re: FVG: Group sign up.
Well I'm not a programmer or CAD guy but I can do just about anything else that may be needed.
Name: Mike Mullinax Aim: Patriots656 email:maverickf18@comcast.net Edit: I'd also be willing to be an Alpha or Beta tester |
Re: FVG: Group sign up.
As for me I could do some seriously good documenting and some program editing, debugging, if not a bit of writing. The problem: I've got vacation next week until the following Sunday (6/27) and IRI to attend. But, I definitely want to be involved in this project.

Re: FVG: Group sign up.
Are you taking reserved spots for Alpha or Beta testing yet??? :D
I'm no programmer, but I know what I like and don't like in video games and play a lot.. *(note: my newest system is a PS1 and oldest is a Colecovision with the exclusive add-on module to allow you to play Atari games too.:D ) Oh, and I have computer gaming knowledge too.. to some extent. ;) |
Re: FVG: Group sign up.
^^^^ i like what Elgin said, I'm here for alpha/beta testing also... and since Elgin listed his resume, why not- i own, and i mean pwn SNES, N64, gameboy, gameboy slim, gameboy color, gameboy advance, and PS2... and yes, I am also a rather experienced PC player, so if yall need any bugs testing just send me a buzz..

Re: FVG: Group sign up.
I can do Flash and Photoshop, thoguh I don't think that's what you guys want. I can also do websites, if you need a website. Don't go to the one in my sig, the domain is currently down.

Re: FVG: Group sign up.
this is all volunteer, we can't have TOO MUCH help. it's like a FIRST team. On a FIRST team everybody can help - no matter how small the job, they are making the team better.
|
Re: FVG: Group sign up.
I can also help out with any webpages needed.
|
Re: FVG: Group sign up.
I was wondering what he hell happened to the FIRST video game thing, we got our own forum thing!
Jim Smith - Programmer I am hoping to expand my knowledge of C/C++ this summer, as of now i am fairly useless. I know some VB too, but wont use it because i hate it, it was a good stepping language, but i can't see its use with things like C++, Objective C/Cocoa.... Oh, yeah, I am a Mac person only, i have no PCs (i suppose when i get my G5 i MAY be able to run VPC, if MS ever puts it out). So i would like to start working on a mac "port" as soon as possible so it doesn't look and feel like a port. |

Re: FVG: Group sign up.
Yeah, i know there will be some real issues with the port, that is why i am so adamant about using open standards, and would like to see the open source project only support open standards/multi-platform standards (as many as possible anyway...)
Zip stuff is open, and is all over mac stuff too, but DLLs would be the problem... If you look around alot of people use alot of different types of computers/Operating systems, whether it be Windows, linux, unix, mac OSX, PowerPC, x86.... So i think it would be good to start off with a multi-platform mind set. |
Re: FVG: Group sign up.
Of course, not using DLLs would mean we would have to write a script Virtual Macine. I know which one I'd prefer. (actually, there is a scripting control from MS. it does VBS and Java script)
|
Re: FVG: Group sign up.
I don't expect you guys to make it MacOSX compatable for me, but if you do and all ihave to do is hit compile on xCode, that would be cool too :)

I'm willing to work on Documentation as well.

Re: FVG: Group sign up.
Ok, I would really like to help with this project.
I don't have much experience, but I think I could help out with 3D and maybe website. If, and that may be pretty large if, I can figure out CS, and get it to run, I could help with coding as well. As always, I can be a quality control and/or beta tester! EDIT: Opps, I forgot my contact info. :o I am Neo3DGfx on AIM, but I am rarely ever on. My e-mail is Neo3DGfx@gmail.com And just for continuity, I can go by Neo. |
