I'm Jamie (Astronouth7303, Astro, or that bright programmer). I lead programming w/ Texan, and have been doing quite a bit of advocating/work as far as this goes.
I use Astronouth7303 as my online name everywhere. if you google it, I can almost garentee every hit refers to me.

I'm also involved in FIRSTwiki and openFIRST.

I use AIM (through Trillian) and Gmail. (guess the user name!)

Hello everybody,

I like the idea of an AIM chat. It is a simple way for all of you behind the FVG to communicate. Good move.

I have watched you guys (and girls) start this project and I noticed that you are using these forums for a majority of your communication. Using the forums has worked so far, but it is a little messy. For example, if somebody from outside the project wants to contact the project team, there is no easy way. If you were looking for sponsors, would you tell them to go into an AIM chat to communicate with the team? Or would you use your personal email addresses?

I'm going to recommend creating a separate place for the FVG, such as a web-based Bulletin Board System or Forum system independent of the Chiefdelphi forums. This will help both Chiefdelphi and the FVG, because the Chiefdelphi forums are just not the best place to plan and architeer (cool verb) a project, and those who wish to browse the forums without caring about the FVG will not have to see [FVG] all over the place.

I'm almost always in there, but I'm not always at the computer. I will, however, read it.

If you have something specific for me, please use AIM/PM.

I'll try to be in there as much as I can.
Though I will be moving Sunday, so I may not be online hardly at all. Wish me luck on that, people.

i don't think this chatroom was well anounced, so i'm just bringing it up again. we need more people in the chat to have more fruitful discussions. it seems like we rarely have more than 2 people talking at once. anybody who wants to discuss the FVG please click the link in my signature
