I'd like to drop team 447 and pick up team 269 Conney Quest Robotics...

Chris..

Note: Someone should pick up 447 cause with my luck now that i'm dropping them they'll be number one seed.

I also thought about them with my last pick. Hard to argue against a team that can hang from halfway across the field.

Any idea who won this division? I'm just curious, i wasn't at IRI so i don't even know how well different teams did.

Both did pretty well, as they were against each other in the finals.

Winner: 71, 980, 269
Finalist: 234, 45, 447

Re: Fantasy FIRST IRI Invite Division

Joe Ross: 571, 716, 107
JVN: 461, 48, 217
Koko Ed: 71, 378, 1038
Joel J.: 45, 292, 93
Karthik: 27, 111, 66
Andy Grady: 33, 65, 930
Andy Baker: 469, 868, 234
Chris: 494, 190, 447
T. Hoffman: 47, 222, 1243
HHSJosh: 980, 808, 1272

If we use the Score = (2 * Wins) + Ties formula like the last invite only division, after performing seconds of extremely simplistic calculations in my head that do not require a score of 800 on the SAT math exam, I have officially determined that Karthik did not win. Let us all rejoice at this happy fact.

Even though they weren't there, I say we give Karthik and Joe the final records of 66 and 107 as determined by the teams substituting for them during the IRI. I'd be pretty happy with 107 as they were actually the 8th seed!

I'm looking forward to some concrete results.

from the looks of things i'd say that HHSJosh came in first followed by Andy Baker...of course I have no idea of the actual numbers I'm just guessing from what I remember...but since he has the #2 and #4 seeds...i'd say he won.

Ok. To determine the scores of each player, I calculated the score of each robot chosen. The method used was nothing knew, I just doubled the number of wins and added any ties.

The spreadsheet I used is attached. You can check the results for yourself.
PHP Code:

Rank    Player            1st Pick    2nd Pick    3rd Pick    Score
----------------------------------------------------------------------
1       Koko Ed           71          378         1038          48
2       Joe Ross          571         716         107           46
3       HHSJosh           980         808         1272          44
3       Andy Baker        469         868         234           44
5       Chris             494         190         269           42
6       Joel J
.           45          292         93            36
6       Travis Hoffman    47          222         1243          36
8       Andy Grady        33          65          930           35
9       JVN       461         48          217           31
10      Karthik           27          111         66            26

Congratulations to Koko Ed for making it out on top. What a battle that was for the top spot!

Karthik, I dare you to make a stronger alliance, none of your Canadian teams here!

I'm a little busy right now, give me a call in two weeks, then we'll talk. ;)

JVN picked 48 eh? I guess he caught wind of who may be doing the field coaching for them. Apparently this pinch hitter knows what he's doing...

Ready to talk yet. ;)

I think you might be right man.
Maybe it's time to rethink the way I play the FF game.

As far as actual match strategy goes -- stick to the pit crew kid, let the "pros" run the matches. Joel is more than capable of keeping me in line. ;) I didn't hear you complaining this season.

Ed,
I'll have a brand new 2005-229 shirt with your name on it, in Rochester next year. Good show.

This division was definitely a fun time. Hopefully we can do more "small" divisions next season. (Different competitions, "season long" competitions, etc). Fun stuff!

Thanks to Joe Ross for starting things up. Good idea Joe, I'll have a 229 shirt for you as well. (Jeez... it's August and already I owe like 5 of the not-yet-created shirts to people).

Take Care,

John
