I work 25-40 hours a week in the kitchen/dining room of a local nursing home. Not the best, but jobs were very scarce around here. I also get to go into work at 5 in the morning :ahh: .

I'm doing temporary work for Orbis Corporation - everything from filling out equipment lists, getting ready for audits, making sure the testing equipment is calibrated, etc and filling in for the receptionist when she's sick!

I'm also doing temp. work for SEEK Inc, a Milwaukee area staffing service. Both jobs give me 0-40 hours per week, depending on how many jobs are available.

Of course, I'm *still* looking for a fulltime (40-50 hpw) job in the Milwaukee area, so if you know of anyone who's hiring, let me know! ;)

I'm working at the Naval Base in South Philly. It is a part time internship (3 days a week) with Navsea which is the government engineering firm for the navy. I was able to get this job through a mentor on my team (or former team if you will) who is the manager of the department which develops antenae systems for the submarines. Its kind of an introduction to electrical engineering and I get to play with fancy and expensive equipment, but I also have to do run of the mill stuff picking up odds and ends around the lab. Im happy, its good money and a great resume builder.

I also work as a hostess at Houlihans on the weekends. I love working because it actually causes me to make more fun plans with friends. Usually during summer I am so bored I am too lazy to go and have fun. This summer has been awesome!

I have a job as Student Web Designer for the Office of Orientation and Transition Services at Syracuse University.

You can see the handiwork I'm carrying on here:

It's not a bad job per se, but I definitely have plenty of CD-browsing time while I'm working there 8.5 hrs a day...

I'm selling fireworks!

It's easy, but about as exciting as watching paint dry when there's no business. "Product testing" makes up for the downtime though ;)

I'm working with my older sister for her dad (we're half sisters, same mom, different dads). He owns a plumbing and home improvement business. The plumbing one is called J & B Plumbing and Heating and the home improvement one is called D S & F Contractors, Inc. I help my sister with the filing, payroll, emails, taking calls, and also helping her with my nephew. Since she can't take care of him while working, I watch him when I have nothing else to do there. It's fun because I'm with family, and I can wear what I want. ;)

I work at the local Sears Roebuck & Company located at the mall here in town. I work in the Loss Prevention Department (no we aren't security, technically i'm a detective for Sears) and get to do all kinds of cool stuff. Our main objective is to watch for and deter any type of loss that could happen to the store whether it be customers stealing, associates dishonesty, or any other type of actions that would lead to inventory or monetary loss. We also work with anything that deals with safety with-in the store such as associate accidents, customer accidents, OSHA standards, etc.

Unfortunately, I also have to do a lot of paper work since pretty much anything that happens within the store gets printed out in some kind of report.

Whenever I'm not working on some type of project, reports, or dealing with the average shoplifter or disguntled customer I get to walk the sales floor or sit back in my office with my feet up on the desk and watch the Closed Circuit Television System.

Another perk of the job is that i get to wear "plain clothes" such as jeans, tennis shoes, and a t-shirt. All and all it's a pretty fun job and I really enjoy getting to boss DJ around j,k :) (he works in Appliances).

EDIT: If DJ calls the associate harassment line on me, I will find something to write him up for....lol

He doesn't boss me around, if he does, ill just call the employee harassment hotline :p

Yeah I work in appliances on commission and so far for the year, business has been great. My benifit rate, which is total commission divided by hours worked (to give you a estimated hrly rate for the year) is around 14 dollars an hr, so that works...usually i spend a few hrs a night watching TV :D

I just started two days ago working with Educational Technology Information Services. It's a division of the school district that handles the computers and related stuff for all of the schools. On my first day, we took out a bunch of old Mac's and installed 90(!) P3 1GHz machines running W2K: 3 per classroom 30 classrooms. It's pretty fun and I like it because we get to go to all different schools.
