Are you sure the pavement hasn't caught fire yet? Yeah, there are so many people with illegal fireworks around here, one got set off right in front of my house last night, those things are loud. Last year, someone on my street was setting them off and it hit a streetlight, and then set another off and caught a whole field on fire, and CONTINUED to set off fireworks! :ahh:

I'm going to a mini robotics competition with the other iowa teams in Cedar Rapids! Then I'll watch our towns fireworks or do something.

I chose "fireworks display" and "other". I have fireworks I'm going to light off tommorrow. We're staying home all weekend and basically cooking on the barbeque. I also just changed the oil, oil filter and air filter on my '87 Caprice. I also just replaced the rotted out rear bumper and added a class 1 hitch. I never had so much fun removing a bumper after 17+ years of northeast corrosion!<sarcasm> I also just picked up more fishing stuff today and I'm planning on going fishing later this weekend.

Ok, I think I finally have plans for the 4th.. lol

I may be going to a car show, or to the lake, or both.. I haven't decided yet.

And watching fireworks is a definate must do since I missed them last year (cause I had my own) but hopefully I'm going to see them this year, one way or another.

Molly Menges, team 45 alum, and her parents asked my wife, kids and I to walk with her dad in the local parade. I think that it was because we have cute kids. :) Anyway, her dad is running for Judge.

So... I bring a Segway for him to ride during the parade (it will be the TechnoKats' machine, as we will raffle it off this fall). He was happy as a lark, and gets to ride it through the entire parade route. Many other candidates were there, including congressmen, and they were ALL jealous!

Molly's dad had the "Segway Smile" pasted on his face all day long.

[edit - oh, yeah, i forgot to add this: Rupert Bonham (from Survivor) was the grand marshall of the parade. I asked him if he wanted to ride the Segway, and he just smiled, shook his head, and said "no.. I better not". oh well]

I had front row seats to the DC fireworks show. We sat right infront of the Lincoln Memorial and had a great view of the Washington Monument and the Capitol. Great show!

I worked.

At least I had a near-perfect day...only eleven cents off perfect, 25 items per minute (which fits nicely between the expected minimum of twenty and the top cashiers at 30), and NO VOIDED ITEMS. I've never done that before--there's always some customer who doesn't want an item.

I celebrated with the Canadians on Canada Day!!! I had a blast. Rode around Niagra-on-the-Lake for a while, and I can't wait to go back there some day when I'm rich! ;) Then I spent two days at Niagra Falls. MMmm, Strawberry Dacquiri's at the Rainforest Cafe and gambling till my heart's content at the Casino Niagra! [Just wish I was legal in America, too :(] I have been to the falls infinite times before, but I finally caught the fireworks display, and made it to the top of the Minolta tower. It was a good time for all, and made it back through customs in time to spend the 4th on American soil.
