Fundraising this Summer

So whats everybody doing for fundraising over the summer? I'll start us off, We've been doing a few car washes. We also are selling pet fish in bowls, with gravel and stuff. We had 12 and we sold them all within an hour and a half  . Have any teams done bake sales over the summer?

summercamps

We got an extremely late start last summer (our first summer doing it), and only had 4 students. But I'm glad cuz we learned we could do it after all. This year we have 32 students in beginning and 16 in advanced. We looked at local summercamps, and came up with a low end charge of $300 a student for 2 weeks.

Unfortunately, as far as I know, my team isn't doing any fundraising. Mostly 'cause it's not something the students want to do at all. I'm going to try and see if I can coax some of them into doing SOMETHING. Cross your fingers... stupid teenage apathy...

KathieK, couldn't we have some kind of tournament? Something easy for us to do like a ping-pong tournament? We could pretty much just have people pay for addmission to be in the tournament and maybe the pattle and ball....i'll be away for a few days though so i won't be able to reply for a bit..

team yardsale. Team members donate stuff they dont want, we have a yard sale, and the profit goes to the team.

ya my team this year isnt really doing any fundraising. Im all for doing fundraising and stuff this summer..but I dont think anyone will listen to me lol Out of summer fundrasing is kinda hard because I never get enough money saved up and I still do every fundraising thing. I think that we dont do enough fundraising. All we do basically is lego league concession stands, krispy kreme donut sales at football games and i think we also do one car wash. but i think thats it. Im going to maybe talk to the head people about fundraising in the summer. It will probably help alot. :D

The great thing about doing fundraisers during the summer months is that you're not competing with other teams or groups or school PTO/PTA fundraisers, etc. But it is difficult to rally everyone around for them.

This past season we sold Entertainment Books and pizza kits as personal fundraisers - where any profit earned by the student is credited towards the student's travel account. And we did car washes and a pasta dinner as team fundraising - which goes toward things like t-shirts, etc. The adults on the team sold beer at our new college football stadium which was a very successful fundraiser. It was a LOT of hard work, though.

We've been preparing (making brochures, new website, making lists) to contact all sorts of local businesses and just started calling today. We don't really have any "fundraisers" planned, but if we can't get enough support from businesses, we will have to turn to that.

We don't really do fundraisers, why I have no idea  . What I do know is that we try and get some sponsors over the summer, and I guess we end up getting most all of our resources that way. If we ever end up doing fundraisers we would porbably do the common carwash because they go well around here. I also remember a few years ago to get money for a camp we sold christmas foliage and that brought in a decent amount of cash.

I, personally, have been trying everything (that's not a conventional, or smart idea) , I've asked friends if they had anyone annoying them or they had someone they liked, and i offered to stalk the people for a price, but it's not really working. The team has been catering at ITT Tech and have gotten a lot, plus we will have car washes, but I'd rather do some of my stuff, because there are a lot of people on my team I want to strangle to death, and by a lot I mean 20 people at least, and I can't work with them for longer than 2 minutes.

Ooh, a summer camp! That's awesome. We came up with the idea of having a 3D animation camp but unfortunately the summer enrichment packets had already been published; it would have been almost impossible to advertise for the camp that late into the spring. We're planning on one next year.

We just came off a really successful car wash in late may. We don't have much planned for the summer months. Starting september though we'll probably be having another car wash and a bake sale. After that we planning on holding a raffle or two until the season starts.

We do most of sponsor-searching during the season.

we had a car wash a few weeks ago that raised about $715 (woo woo!)
and now, thanks to team 364, we're going to host our first (and hopefully annual) Cooney Robotics Golf Tournament on October 2nd!!

We're expecting to make at least $5,000 and eventually groom this to be our only fundraiser if it all works out well :D

And even more importantly, we raised $200 for Alex's Lemonade Stand to benefit pediatric cancer research.
