at the final going to be different. like 16 alliances instead of 8?

I'm wondering this too, so I checked out the Canadian Regional results- and it appears like there were 16 alliances. I wonder if the 1st alliance could select any team or if it was divided in two divisions? If so, what a bear- scouting 2 fields and 80 teams. Sounds like fun :P

At the 2004 Canadian Regional all 75 teams were in one division. This did make scouting, and alliance picking quite the ordeal for the 16 alliance captains. Nevertheless, I would rather this setup over one with two 37-40 team divisions.

Nothing set in stone yet - but we are looking to be the second week again - FIRST will be posting the schedule as soon as all the contracts are written.

Okay, given that the dates for the So Cal regional have been announced, here is the updated unofficial schedule so far:

Week 1 (Mar 3-5): Rochester, VCU
Week 2 (Mar 10-12): Florida
Week 3 (Mar 17-19): Purdue, New Jersey, Long Island, Chesapeake
Week 4 (Mar 24-26): Waterloo, Philadelphia
Week 5 (Mar 31-Apr 2): Greater Toronto, Western Michigan, Southern California, NYC
Week 8 (Apr 21-23): Championship Event

I'm really hoping they manage to squeeze NV into week 2.

Has anyone heard anything about Detroit, Great Lakes, or Buckeye?

Re: 2005 Regionals

heres hoping they dont really have 4 regionals on that week 5. especially socal and toronto. 188's flying down that week to socal, but we would liked to have attended either regional in canada. having back to back ones and then shipping to socal may be a bit of a bother. =T. looks like there isnt anything closer besides rochester

In defence of J Flex 188, who is on our team, I know that he meant that we had few options if that were the case. Some of the mentors have discussed different events and Rochester was high in the running. By looking at the posts so far I believe that 188 will probably be in SoCal week 5 and Greater Toronto week 6. If the team gets to work and raises some funds then we MAY go to a 3rd regional. Will we be at Championships this year? We must qualify, and we must raise more money. $5000.00 US = approx $7800.00 CDN

FYI - Team 188 IS The Force From The North and I know that we want to go to Atlanta to cool down the Hot US teams. ;)

heh, sorry about the double post, but just a quick and silly note, as soon as we began talking about rochester, the breeze (the new ferry service that only started this june between toronto and rochester) broke down and they have no clue when it will be back in service. might as well be though, considering that we havent even built a permanent terminal yet

I should clarify that it didn't quite break down. Instaed, they ran out of money. Theoretically they'll be restarting it soon but I'll believe it when I see it.
