Possible Bug ??

I just noticed this ... I know afflictionblade/Mike Ciance just switched his username from afflictionblade to Mike Ciance and as a result all his posts' names switched. But if you look at the thread title and where it says last post by, it still says afflictionblade ..
(sry to make an example of you Mike .. )

hehe, I've seen several other forum software that has this same problem.

This is more of a 'Brandon is trying to do it fast' thing ..

Theres a 'rebuild names' function I could run, but i figure they'll all change eventually, so why bother.

I've noticed this along with something else. For example I quoted shyra1353 in my (this) post. If she changes her user title, "shyra1353" will still be quoted in this post. It's interesting (and sometimes fustrating) when you read a post and see something quoted from someone and look back in the thread and can't find that person. You have to read through all the posts to find that quote.

[EDIT] Scratch that! I didn't know Brandon replied with an answer before my post.

i noticed that also right after my name was changed. no big deal though.

don't worry about using me as an example, it's free publicity! :p

I just got on after 3 days of being off-line (7 pages of new posts!). And it's freaking me out a little, since I can't find any of the names I knew you by!

No! If he were president, he wouldn't have time to take care of us here on CD anymore! :ahh:

Easy, low-tech solution:

Nobody gets to change usernames. NOBODY!!

Those will have to be rebuilt. The vBulletin scripts don't account for stuff I wrote..

I'll add to the todo list.
