Umm...I'm not sure if it's just where I grew up, but I count down, and when I get to 0, I count up again. On a 1 hr bus ride, I went from 100 to 0 and back up to 100 before stopping
(Counting up is: Up chuck, spit it up, x bottles of (something) on the wall)

"99 miles of trail to go, 99 miles of trail. Hike a mile, rest a while, 98 miles of trail to go..."

About 2 summers ago, that was me while hiking. I do recall getting to the end of it...

Go big or go home. If you start this song, you have to finish it.

Then when we would get to zero, it's

Zero bottles of beer on the wall!
Zero bottles of beer!
Go to the store, buy ten more!
10 bottles of beer on the wall!

There were times in elementary school we all used the "Go to the store, buy ten more!" line multiple times.

Yeah....this happened on the bus ride home from Chesapeake. A mentor and I started with a twist. We used the BCD for 1-5-1-1 and started counting down. Went something like this:

"0001010100010001 bottles of beer on the wall 0001010100010001 bottles of beer. you take one down, pass it around, 0001010100010000 bottles of beer on the wall."

We got to 1-5-0-2 before people on the bus started yelling at us.

So then we Rick Roll'd them. ;)

Odd thread to revive but it brings back a good memory - On the bus to NJ in 2006, some of the seniors thought it would be fun to start the song, but not without simultaneously teasing our chemistry teacher coach .. I will forever think of it as "99 bottles of moles on the wall..." :D

Wouldn't it be 6.02x10^23 bottles of moles on the wall? That song would take a while.

I managed to get my entire family to sing the whole thing on a road trip to Chicago. Otherwise, I've gotten larger groups to about 50ish.

I believe I've finished it a few times. On the way to the West Michigan District Event, I was bored and was singing it to myself. I think I stopped at 86, but that was because we stopped to eat and I forgot to start again. :D

My choir tried it on the way back from festival, but we didn't get too far. We switched songs about a trillion times.
