Pleasantries of Evil Overlords

Information About Being an Evil Overlord

Please read that first. Since I have become more ambitious and changed my life's plan from court jester to evil overlord, I'd like to see what the rest of the FIRST community can strategize out of this one. Would evil overlording lose its point if you didn't have a hero to ruin all the plans and then be foiled by the overlords dashing escape? Discuss.

No, the lack of heroes will just mean that you've got more overlords. I guess by that point some of the overlords, while still evil, will turn relatively good to keep the ball rolling. Don't know what'll happen then, though.

Although I'm getting scared, Eugenia...first court jester, then evil overlord? What next?!

Hmmmm. I think it would end up that some overlords would turn into heroes, but then they wouldn't be evil overlords anymore, and the list wouldn't apply. Then again they'd know the tricks of the trade. That could be interesting.

I'm not sure what's at stake for me.

First a court jester, then an evil overlord, maybe I should just continue the cycle and become an engineer.

Bah! I've been an Evil Overlord for quite some time now, and let me tell you, it's overrated. Everyone fears you (and rightly so) and what is feared is often wished dead (look at how many innocent spiders meet untimely ends due to people being afraid of them).

Stick with being a court jester (all of the fun and none of the paranoia) or an engineer... just watch out that you don't end up working for an Evil Overlord...

If you are already an Evil Overlord (EO) you already belong to EOU. If you are an EO in-training, you can belong to EOU but you're on probation and if you prove to not be evil enough, or overlordish enough, they will terminate your membership (watch out, they may also try to terminate you as well).

The first step in obtaining full EO status is to gather as many minions as possible. I suggest you start with Freshman, they're usually pretty easy to covert to devious ways...

Minions... I don't know what you mean... how could I ever find minions?

"I am JVN" ;)

Minions my friend. It takes propaganda. An astronaut, evil overlords can hug as much as they please. This is often how secret messages are passed, instead of sending them through enemy lines in complex code that is always figured out by the blundering geek who breaks the code and turns into the hero.
/digress
JVN, you must seek out minions. Every overlord has their style.

Why, if you do not know what I mean about minions and you do not know where to find them, that means you, yourself, must be a minion. Please don't be alarmed about this, it's a well known fact that minions do not know they are minions.

So my advice to you (and take it with a grain of salt, after all, I am an Evil Overlord) is that you need to decide if you are so very evil and overlording enough to be an EO or if you would rather play it low key and be a minion. If you decide to follow the minion course, I suggest you join MEOU (Minions of Evil Overloards Union) first thing to protect you minion rights. And then you must decide which EO you will be a minion for (choose wisely). Minions are not allowed to have their own minions, however, they can usually keep a less intelligent sidekick around to blame mistakes on when their OE's plans do not go as planned (this does happen a lot, and your MEOU will tell you how much abuse an EO is allowed following such setbacks).

To all EOs and potential EOs, I must warn you to screen your minions carefully as some of them turn out to be heroes in disguise, and some minions are a little too intelligent and ambitious for their own good and will try to eventually overthrow their EOs.

Ohhh... now I see... you're the hero type. And an uppity one at that! That explains why you didn't know what a minion was or where to find one. Heroes don't have minions, but like minions, they often have sidekicks or hero wanna-be companions.

I should warn you that most heroes are also martyrs, and die before vanquishing the Evil Overlord. And the more uppity the hero, the more likely he/she is to be done away with by the EO's horde or knocked off by one of his/her hero wanna-be companions who is actually a minion in disguise. But don't worry, should this happen to you, your sidekick will seek revenge and by luck, will most likely defeat the EO. See, the unlikely heroes are just about the only way EOs are defeated, and unlikely heroes win with little skill and lots of luck.

So good luck with your "army of you", my hordes and minions will be waiting patiently with baited breath... (worms, EOs usually bait their hordes and minions with worms)

Re: Pleasantries of Evil Overlords

Another symptom of minions is that they may have delusions of grandeur, i.e., they think they're heroes but in actually their actions live out their EO's needs. You must keep into consideration that you may already be a minion and just don't know it, as is probably the case. I wish you luck in coming to terms with your identity.
