South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut
I was watching this movie the other night on Comedy Central, and I was just thinking about it.
Beyond a string of profanities that you would never have thought of yourself, what do y'all get from this movie? (I'll post what I get from it later--I don't want to steer this down any particular path just yet.) |
Re: South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut
All I get from any SP material, is that they are just making serious things become lighter (or try to, anyways).

Re: South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut
I think it is pretty funny. IMO, the majority of jokes are social commentary type ones. Satirizing various aspects of our society and such. Nothing terribly original, but it is often funny if you don't mind the vulgarity.

Alright, I suppose it's later.
I got from the movie two things... (OO-GAH! OO-GAH! POLITICS ALERT! POLITICS ALERT! NOT THE OPINIONS OF 1293 OR SCHOOL DISTRICT FIVE ALERT!) First, I got a good laugh from the general not-my-fault attitude that pervaded the movie...although I got something else from it. Consider this: A minority, presumably with a chip on their shoulder (The Terrence and Philip movie's vulgarities) manage to sway the entire country into waging war with a country that had done little to nothing to us (Canada), while also leading parents to a state of fear such that they're willing to give up their children's rights to cuss like a sailor (the V-chip). Oh, and Saddam Hussein is in bed with Satan. Perhaps it's just me, but the movie seems to reek of the world today. With just a few changes, I get this: Consider this: A minority, potentially with a chip on their shoulder (Saddam is still in power) manage to sway the entire country into waging war with a country that had done little to nothing to us, while also leading Congress to a state of fear such that they're willing to give up their constituent's rights to speak freely and have a fair trial (the USA PATRIOT Act). Oh, and Saddam Hussein is in bed with Satan. Thoughts? (This concludes our political alert. We now rejoin The Price Is Right, already in progress.) |
