Team Business Plan

I searched the white papers but couldnt find a related document. Does any team have a team business plan that I could take a look at? Even just the outline for one! I've started a light draft, but it would be really great with a model. This is for a grant. Thanks!

Re: Team Business Plan

Hi! We created a very simple business plan earlier in the year. Note: This is also the first business plan we've ever created... so we're not exactly masters! Good luck with yours, and here is ours:

Mission Statement:
To develop a sustainable, year-round FIRST team that brings together a diverse body of students, parents, and mentors for a fun and inspirational learning experience in engineering and teamwork.

Structure:
The team is comprised of the following entities:
• Students
• Teachers
• Parents
• Sponsor mentors

Student leadership is comprised of a team captain, two co-captains and eight sub-team leaders. All leaders are elected annually by the students
• Captain
• Co-captains
o 1 Fund-raising
o 2 Compliance
• Sub-teams
o Animation
o Chairman's
o Electrical
o Inventor
o Mechanical
o Strategy
o Website

Parents, mentors, and teachers are free to choose their own structures and leadership.

Goals:
1. Greater Student Diversity
- Recruiting focused on females
- Demonstrate the opportunities for experience in a variety of departments (engineering, public relations, drawing, etc.)

2. Year-Round Team
- Participate in off-season competitions
- Continue fund-raising efforts off-season
- Off-season tutorials from engineers and parents given to students

3. Hands-On Education
- Small Engineer-Student Ratio
- Fun and understandable demonstrations and/or lectures on fundamental engineering topics for both new and veteran team students.
- Robot is primarily student designed

4. Strong Team Image
- Professional, yet colorful, appearance at all FIRST events
- Unique and memorable giveaways at events

5. Strong Chairman's Submission
- Greater local community outreach
- Setup unique projects/programs related to engineering
- Start new FIRST and FLL teams

6. Team Handbook
- Includes team rules, sub-team descriptions, etc.
- One copy provided to each student

Re: Team Business Plan

Top tier teams 47 and 45 both have handbooks, which are similar in concept.

Re: Team Business Plan

we have a huge business plan that explains all the goals and how we will acheive them, its a little too big (88 pages) So I will see if we have an outline to show.
