Setting a World Record
 

I was roaming around the Internet a while ago and suddenly remembered the World Records show that used to be on FOX ever week. It got me thinking, I bet I can set/break a record. I decided that the best record for me to set/break would be something to do with snapping. So I sent out for guidelines for the record (Most finger snaps on two hands in one minute) to be completed. I should be hearing back in about 8 weeks.


Have you ever tried to or actually set a world record? Do you know anybody who has?

Back in my junior year of ROTC, I saw a copy of the Guiness Book of Records, and it had a listing for the world's largest food drive. I started the ball rolling for the corps to try for it, but Colonel shot the idea down for the sheer size of the feat. (The record was well over 200,000 pounds for two weeks.)

...but just for my personal knowledge, does anyone know of a larger robotics competition than FIRST?

Ya know, I think FIRST just might have that record. In fact, I'm sure of it. I don't know if it's in the books, but I think we have it.

Well, they are always looking for new categories. You could submit it. :D

If I remember correctly, there was a TV commercial (I don't remember the product) that had the world's fastest snapper. It was an insane amount, over 200 I believe. It may not be an official Guinness record though. He snapped with all 4 fingers, both hands, as fast as possible. Good Luck.
